For the first time in the history of the Ridler award, the trophy has been won by a woman. The 1933 Ford Phaeton, named Gold Digger, owned by Tammy Ray of Dahlonega, Ga., was judged the best of the Great Eight at the Detroit Autorama on Feb. 28.

that's weird that in all this time this is the first time a lady has won... but i still don't quite get the concept of building a car solely for these types of shows. i guess i'd rather buy something and mod it, drive it and show it. but that's just me...

I'm generally against show cars that don't get driven.
I'm of the mindset that if you buy something that is meant to be used...then it should be used.
That's like Lone Watie thinking a piece of rock candy is "fer lookin through".
