I know we're all chomping at the bit to get one of these babys, but how many of us will wait until the 2d year (more colors, different options, etc...) to get one of the new cars just the way we want them? How much of a change do we anticipate between the 1st & 2d year models? Me, I'd like to get the coupe the 1st year, then the 'vert the 2d, but I'd have to sepnd a lot of time in Iraq making extra money to be able to do that!!!!:gr_patriot:

I've heard that the coupe will be the only model available in 2009 & the 'vert won't be there until 2010 - anybody know if this is true?

I'd like to have the base model engine 'vert the first day in '09 with all the extra electronics & other extras like that. I really don't want a V8 due to the gas prices nowadays.

Wait? What is that?

I was going to wait for the vert, but being that I am an autocrosser, and very impatient, I'm going to get the coupe as soon as I can. Already laid the groundwork with my wife, saying that I'm getting one. Got my down payment in the form of a 1994 Vette. :D

A machine repair tech. came to our shop a few days ago to fix one of our cnc machines, and while he was here we got talking about cars and he told me that he worked for GM for 10 years. During that time he had some hands on with designing the C6 Vette. He said that GM made over 100 changes to the 06 compared to the 05. If he was in the market for a used C6, he said he would wait til the right 06 came along. Just passin' on a first-hand story from someone who was right there in the design trenches.

I'll be waiting until 2011 for a several reasons. The first reason is that I have to pay off my wife's Honda Odyssey first. The second reason is that I want to give them a couple of years to get the bugs worked out. Every new model I've ever seen has issues the first model year, especially when it's a brand- new platform. The third reason is that there will be a feeding frenzy the first year and I don't want to get gouged by my local Chevy dealer just so I can be the first on my block with a new Camaro. The final reason is that by 2011 there will probably be a well- established network of custom dealer specials like the old Yenkos and Baldwin- Motion Camaros and I might want to go that route.

As long as it looks close to concept and has an LS3 i'll be one of the first in line.

there will be some vendors that have the specialty cars right away I know of a dealership that is already in the works of setting their cars apart from the crowd. I prefer a first year high end model myself. sorry about the near double post I must have fat fingered somethng because that is the way it worked out.
