Camaro vs. Mustang

Well hello and welcome I guess. . I have to say I've never been a Ford "fan" per se but that does not mean there aren't any I don't like. I like termies, Mach 1's (newer ones), and the new one is nice. I can honestly say I would never buy one though. My wife is the Ford freak and she gets her trucks etc but as far as me going to buy a mustang for myself aint happening, there are too many GM vehicles I'd rather have. But I'd take a Ford over a honda ANY day. And I can't say I'd rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford either as my Camaro is temporarily down and since the wife wanted to drive the GTO today I had to drive her 07 Escape.

On to this Mustang you have, you must be in the low 9 high 8 to make a bold statement like that and come march when my replacement engine finally goes in that wont be enough and I'll put your statement to the test :roxor:. However this board is not a huge racing or mod board such as the ones like LS1.com or LS1tech.com where you probably rank anywhere from 60% to maybe 70 % depending on what you run. Hopefully its not that 96 you have as to make that run anywhere near what it would take to beat my Camaro you'd have to spend at least twice what I have in mine. I mean In that respect one of the mustang forums I look at often I know I was in the upper 70% so what I did a lot of research and selected parts and spend alot of money to get there. Hell my cam only bolt on Camaro smoked a guy down the street with a built 302 with heads cam gears boltons etc. Yet I know a guy with a fox that that has almost as much in engine as I do all together that would kick my tail every time.

Regardless if you are that confident then there is a whole lot of mods in it and it becomes less about what brand it is and more about how much money and ingenuity you have in it. Even a 500 $ GEO Metro can be fast with a boatload of money time and effort thrown in it.

I've always liked Mustangs and Camaros, both. My favorites were the late 60's versions of both, too. The old Boss Mustangs, and the 69 Camaro... awesome!

I really liked the Concept Mustang, but the production version dumbed it way down, and they stuck with that solid axle. That kinda ticked me off.

I really like the Saleen or Roush Mustangs, but I'm not all that impressed with the Shelby ones. If you're gonna use his name, it's gotta be really impressive, and it's not, to me.

The Challenger is a nice design to me, but the Camaro, ever since I first saw the "spy shots" of Bumblebee years ago, has sparked something inside of me. I've never owned a Camaro, although I test drove a few before I bought my Vette, and I've had friends that have owned them, and I've always liked them.

You'll find all types here. Mustang lovers and Mustang haters. Hopefully people can all post their opinions, and just realize that that's what they are. If you like the 2010 Camaro, you are welcome here....at least that's my opinion.

sorry, but i HATE all things m_st_ng. an opinion and i will not 'push' it on you. but like was stated earlier. the more you mod it, the less of its original being it is. and sounds like you spent countless thousands on this "chassis" i have done somthing like this with my 86 Camaro, in smaller proportions... yes i only have around 5000 invested in my car (purchase price included) and it would also walk away from the majority of cars here. and street legal also. i dont run 8 seconds, but its far from stock and far from slow.

the m_st_ng in transformers looked powerful, and somewhat stylish, but it was altered to look that way. that camera angle, where he was going to run over the kid... any car would look tough in that scene. i say it will not have a chance when the camaro comes out. and not the simulated bumblebee from the movie, but the SS edition, or whichever is TOP.

also, this generation of m_st_ng body style sure does look similar to the concept camaro pictures that flew around the internet way back in '03. i know they were just photoshops that some 'non-gm exec' came up with for the new camaro, but i swear after having that picture all over my computer and falling in love with the idea of the "future 5th gen" it was less then a year later when my wife pointed out the new m_st_ng. that looked IDENTICAL. or very similar at least. the first thing i said... THEY STOLE IT!!! how the ___ did they steal the idea and beat GM to this body style.

it was kind of ironic. and alot of people that have not seen the new camaro still say it looks like a m-st-ng... and i always say, no, thats what the camaro looks like, its more like the m-st-ng looks like the concept camaro.

i guess if Chevy would not have beat around the bush for 5-7 years, then the beautiful car we all love would already be out, and f-rd would have to come up with somthing else.

i guess these 2 rival companies have similar ideas of what the muscle heads out here have been looking for. *and dodge too

we want our muscle cars back, and they are all working on it. atriot: im happy about that, but like way back the Camaros are going to lead the way again!! WOOO HOOO
