I haven't heard anything either, but I hope so. I know dodge was doing it with the Challengers.

Yes! it would be great if GM set-up an on line tracking Like Dodge did! And they should! It was awesome tracking my 08 Challenger! I would check every hour for days! It was like christmas when it would change to the next stage.

GM Production Status Codes

Here are the status codes for when you communicate with your dealer:

1100 Order placed at dealer
1101 Order Accepted by GM
2001 Order generated to dealer
2005 Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050 Order changed
2500 Order sent to production
3000 Order accepted by production control
3100 Order available to sequence (now becomes more stable)
3300 Order selected for production by assembly plant
3400 Order broadcasted for production
3800 Vehicle produced
4150 Vehicle invoiced to dealer
4200 Vehicle shipped
5000 Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000 Vehicle delivered to customer

None us us will see a status report change until 2500 which most likely will not happen until at least February. Because of the early order set up, we may see 1101, and 2500. In a normal order these sequences occur so quickly that the individual steps are not reported to the dealer. I believe they are only generated and downloaded once a week. I think in this case, for those of us that are lucky enough to have dealers that are enthusiastic about this, they will provide information regularly. The key step is the order/confimation number that is issued when the order is in the system. That's how you know your dealer entered the order. The dealer will know the actual production day of the car when the production sequences occur. Last fall I had the production day of the my CTS about 2 weeks before it was scheduled. When I received the car, they saved me the report slip shipped with the car that showed the day, time and option schedule as it was produced.

When i ordered my 04 GTO there was a number given and you could track them even by train if i remember correctly. But it may be because they came from Aussie land then across country. What happened to mine was when they came off the boat it went down the road to a smaller port and then got lost in limbo for about 34 days. So i found out where it was and called the little office at that port and they went out and looked for my car and it was there with a few others.

sooo... any news on the tracking situation? are any of our sponsor dealers willing to do this?

i also tracked mine when i ordered our GTO. there was a guy on the GTO forum (HRJ) that worked at a dealership and we all gave him our order numbers and every week he would check on our orders and post updates (he would post the codes that pfflyer posted about). it was AWESOME!!

i also tracked the Firehawk when i ordered that. that was back when the SLP ENG forum was active and somehow i got the phone number for CSX rail and would call the automated service lke everyday to check where my car was. i knew exactly when it was supposed to arive at the dealer and i got there a little bit before it did and was waiting for it when the truck pulled up. :D

i hope someone on here can help us track our orders.

I mentioned it before, and I'l GLADLY ('cause I'm CAMARO SCOTTY) mention it again...

Your order is assigned a six-digit alpha-numeric order number which is necessary to track an order. The best method to track the order is to stay in touch with your ordering Dealer; however, you can also track the order by contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 800-222-1020.

FYI

just called customer service and found out you need to press the prompt for "warranty" or "recall" to be connected to the right department that can track your order. the really nice lady i also spoke with said that they probably won't be offering tracking until the start of production. :D

Scotty what does the "order number" (yes it's called that) on the print all of us received mean? It's completely different than the alpha-numeric confirmation number and more than 6 characters.
