Any of you have to deal with long term car storage?

I was planning on buying a new camaro but now discovering it may be possible for me to get one more overseas assignment prior to retirement.

So now weighing my options...

1. Buy the car now, then if I do end up going overseas to a location where I cannot bring it, just store it here in the U.S.. If I do this, I am concerned with any damage to the car for having it stored so long. Most likely it would be 3-4 years. Is this a concern?

2. Wait a few more years until I get to the point where I would not be able to take an overseas assignment, then buy a car at that time. If I did this though, I would still have the car payment when I retired, which I am trying to avoid.

Any thoughts or experiences anyone can share? Thanks!

if you buy it now, you will always worry about the condition of your car... i say save the money you would be spending on the car payment now, and in 3-4 years buy the car you want without having to finance it

I bought A 2002 B4C,keep in in storage for 6 yrs, ran it about once a month, never changed the oil, never drove it.I gave it to my son.He is driving the car now,has 20k plus miles, the only problem was the tires were flat spotted.Replaced them,no more troubles.Oh never titled the car.
