DaimlerChrysler AG Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche reassured shareholders Thursday that the automaker was not forgetting its history with a proposed name change to Daimler AG ? instead of Daimler-Benz, the company's name for much of the 20th Century.

Daimler was just pissed off. Back in WW2 when they were Daimler-Benz..they were building the German Panzers. While Chrysler was building the M4 Sherman.

Yea so they turn the U.S.'s most profitable car company into an big pocket book they just kept pulling money and profits from mighty mopar till there was none left. Then they sold it..From what I read and what they did was almost criminal..actually it was. But you cant bring to justice your own company.

Without the deep pocket book of Chrysler your going to see MB slowley go down hill again..trust me the Benz Mopar merger was more of a last ditch effort to save MB from going out of Biz than anything and soaked up the resources and profits and cast them away...well now what is MB goind to do?

I think if Chrysler can regain what it once had like it did in the 90's I think you will see Chrysler tell MB to collectively kiss thier ass!
