We could only hope to see the Camaro making an appearance like this!

as posted on Autoblog.com

Either Dodge is prepping to officially announce production of the Challenger concept, or the brand's feeling dissed for not receiving 300 e-mails daily like rival Chevrolet for its Camaro concept. Whatever the reason, the retro-muscle car rumbled largely unannounced into SoCal last week, sending enthusiasts into a frenzy. Autoblog reader John and members of Challenger Talk snagged several pics at various spots in Orange County, while reader emulous1974 snared a surprising number of night shots (above) before his camera battery died. Thanks for the top-notch work, guys!

Challenger Concept could be parking next to you soon
as posted on Autoblog.com

Dodge has been doing some market research these days by sending its Challenger concept on the rounds. Autoblog reader Kurt spotted the beaut on Cruise Night at a Big Boy restaurant in Taluca Lake, Calif., where the carbon fiber-clad one-off was the object of everyone's affections. This is at least the second or third time the Challenger Concept has shown up unannounced in a parking lot, which is likely playing a part in Dodge's decision whether or not to make the car a reality in production form. Check out the link for some night shots of the Challenger Concept under the bright lights of Big Boy

:bat: well if they chose to produce the challanger, they will force gm to produce the camaro which I say is a good thing! I am surprised that they are having this car out so much though. Because it is worth a lot of money! Dodge will be sorry if they call out the camaro to much though because I will bet that GM puts a 7.0 in the camaro if Dodge puts the 6.1 in the challanger:nutkick: that nut kick is for the owners of the challanger who want to try to step to my 5th gen

The Challenger will not be competition for the Camaro. I suppose top model to top model it will be but Dodge will not be mass producing this car and there will be no entry level V6 model. They're only looking to sell 30,000 of them a year and they will all be the high hp, high price model.

Since when? I must be really out of the loop, since last I heard, the Challenger would have a base V6, a 5.7 R/T, and a 6.1 SRT. Of course, the last speculation I heard was that the Camaro would be 3.9/5.3/6.0/7.0.

I think unless the challanger has a v-10 it will get smoked by the camaro. The camaro would smoke the v-10 if it got the 7.0 and a 373 rear end

no but that is what lutz said that if the camaro was being outsold by the challanger that gm would consider the 7.0 as an option!
