Way to take a cool concept and make it worthless, Dodge....

The Dodge Demon sports car concept will switch to a Chinese-built front-wheel drive platform for a production version, AutoWeek has learned.

Chrysler will engineer the design on a Chery Automobile platform as part of a wider cooperation between the companies to create small hatchbacks and sedans for the Chrysler and Dodge brands to sell in Europe and North America.

Man, they blew it on this one BIG TIME. :BangHead:

What a waste of a great design. They should have just threw the paper drawings away rather than nueter it like that. Chrysler will be in need of another buy out sooner than later.

You like that? I think it's one of Dodge's worst designs. The cues are all over the place. Nothing consistently sweeping or flowing. I LOVED the Viper. This one falls short to me.

Compared to the original demon I can see the insult. Now that they are talking FWD its even moreso. Yes I was actually hoping to see another one of the big 3 step into the miata ring as well. Dodge take 1 step foreward (chally) and several back (demon and many more).

I was hoping to see a brawl between a SRT-4 Demon and a GXP Solitice.
But I guess it would be embarassing to see a Demon spank a Challenger in every way at a lower prices. Lol.

I don't have the laughing face on my blackberry or I'd post it! It seems like Dodge may be close to a crash and burn soon. Unless they can find someone else that will buy them.

I hate to bash on any cars or American cars, but I expect more competition from Ford over the next few years than Dodge. Just my .002 cents.

That's what the ebrake is for :lol:. I can halfway forgive an import chasis (halfway) but not a chinese one.

x2 on the crossfire I actually thought it was kind of a cool car, SLR spoiler (yes porsche was first but looks more like the one on the McLaren) and all. Wanted to see the SRT version but never saw one in person.

Seriously, the Crossfire had some pluses. This things looks like an epic fail about to hit the market.

(Btw, it's not a roadster if it's not RWD, maaaybe AWD. )
