Dyno'd today, 75 deg F in AZ ( 0% humidity ) before the intake & tune it was at 360 RWHP, now I am at 383.8 RWHP @ 5800rpm as of the run today. I have pics of the sheet, and a vid, but not uploading it now. Thought I would get more, but then again PF, Mucker15 and a few others told me not to expect too much. Total mods to date are: GMPP axle back exhaust, Airaid cold air intake and a tune.:D

Well that's OK & Texas for ya, I remember blowing a rod through the bottom of the 454 in the motor home 50 miles west of OK on the 40 one summer, had to wait 4 hours for a semi wrecker to come tow us to OK City, that was a humid and miserable day. I used to travel that route from PHX to Chicago every summer, I would make it to the Will Rodgers Turnpike and pull over at one of those little spots with picknick tables and sleep for a few hours on the side of the road, figured that people who paid to get on a road wouldn't be likely to stop and mess with someone.

Cash - wise I think it has to be, everything else (non bolt ons) are even more expensive, before I started moding anything I was really hoping to see 500 RWHP with just bolt ons. I was quickly shot down by many members here and now my results prove them right. So now all I want for christmas is another 16.2 HP to the ground, at least I will have 400 HP to paint on the cowl/raised portion of the hood.

Right on man, guess I still am a novice at all this, I don't know what the downpipes v.s. the headders are. Other than that the mods I have done are pretty close to yours - CAI & tune, except my exhaust is axle back and the cats remain stock. Hoping that the headders will get me past the 400 mark. It has not even been a month yet, so I can't sink anymore money into it right now, hopefully soon.

Dyno'd mine at "Cars in the Park, Sierra Vistta, AZ, 2011 Camaro, auto, Borla S-Type CatBack exhaust, HallTech CAI, ran 338 RWHP in 4th gear all the way to redline, speed was 145MPH. I know this because I have the HUD and saw the 2SS hit redline and the 145MPH. Should I run it in 5th and 6th gears, well over 400 RWHP and probably hit the 180 no problem. Next run will be from 4th-5th-6th and we'll see exactly what it puts out!!

the proper gear to dyno in is 4th (to "see exactly what it puts out!")...power is dependent on RPM's, not on speed.

Wow, nice looking headers! Can they be run in the winter or will those welds rust?

Dyno before and after bolt ons

I had my 2010 1SS M6 dyno'd stock at 367 RWHP. After adding an SLP CAI and axle back muffler delete (rated at a 35 HP increase on the motor) I was disappointed to see only a 10 RWHP increase. I didn't get an improvement in my 1/4 Mile time either, just more wheel spin. However, I do like the sound and now have a rechargeable air filter.

Does this hold true for Automatics as well?

I dynoed mine today and had a disappointing 335.16 RWHP 332.29 RWTQ. But I did it in 3rd at the recommendation of the tech.

I did one run by accident in 2nd, netting only 289.55 RWHP 292.17 RWTQ. Given the difference from 2nd to 3rd (45.61 RWHP) if I had that kind of gain running the dyno in 4th, is it logical to assume 380 RWHP?

I'm running headers, hiflo cats, catback exhaust, ported TB, CAI and a tune...WTF:angry:

As far as i know, it's whatever gear is 1:1 (or closest)...i would have to look up the gear ratios, but pretty surre that's 4th.

Hydra-Matic 6l80 six-speed automatic (A6 SS) w/ TAPshift
Gear ratios :)1):
First: 4.03
Second: 2.36
Third: 1.53
Fourth: 1.15
Fifth: 0.85

Sixth: 0.67
Reverse: 3.06
Final drive ratio: 3.27

So I should have done the run in 4th or 5th (either being equal on each side of 1:1)...

So doing it a gear or even two lower, my hp numbers should have been higher?

Stock I got 369 RWHP. With an SLP CAI and axle back (muffler delete) exhaust I got 379 RWH - no tune. I drove the car in 4th gear, standard trans, and TC off on the dyno and saw the DIC show a message something like "MAX SPEED LIMITED TO 155 MPH" when the rev limiter kicked in at 6300 RPM. It can be increased to get a higher speed in 5th and 6th gears with a tune. My best time of 13.35 sec at 110.79 MPH was before I did the mods. Traction with stock tires is my big problem,

Then my runs were way off...my fastest quarter was a 13.07 @108.96 and your stock numbers are way better than my modded. Definitely need to find another dyno and run it again in the right gear...
