How practical are these cars from a business standpoint? GM is developing a new rear-wheel-drive platform, which is what the Camaro needs. The problem is that GM also plans to use this platform on a number of crucial cars for Chevrolet,
Buick and Pontiac, with all three slotted to get rear-drive sedans from this project. It's fair to ask whether adding a Chevrolet Camaro to the rear-wheel-drive program is the best allocation of resources for a company that desperately needs to fill so many gaps in its product portfolio.
