I was talking about this over at Camaro5 forum but wanted to get more opinions!

thinking about doing the CAI Inc cold air induction on my 2011 2SS.

Can anyone who has done and also installed the Apex Motorsports Cold Air Intake Scoop and the Apex Motorsports Washer Fluid Tank Replacement Kit tell me if its worth adding those two options? Is the cold air induction enough?

The price for the scoop is fine - but if its only a minimal improvement, I'll stick with just the induction - but if the scoop is awesome in terms of more power/better mpg (oxymoron i know) then i'll go for it.

thanks!

I helped install it in a friends car last month. The hardest part is using the dremmel to cut some plastic out of the way. Best answer is you don't need it if you get rid of the washer fluid bottle. If you want to keep it then you need the scoop and relocation bottle. It took us a few hours to do it.

so is adding the scoop and relocating the washer res going to give me a noticeable change in power/better gas mileage vs just doing the cai?

I really don't think you will feel anything. Maybe pick up 1 or 2 hp from the scoop if you're lucky.

I believe that the scoop and washer relocation kits an additional 3-4 HP when combined with our CAI. so you go from 15 rwhp to 18 or 19 rwhp. It all adds up in the end! Thank you for choosing Cold Air Inductions Inc.!

Can you post a Dyno showing 3-4 hp gain using the scoop with the CAI and then a Dyno with the CAI and no scoop???

I installed the CAI Inc. setup myself. I did not add the scoop though. I've had it on the car going on 2 years. No impact without the scoop for me.

There have been some speed shops that have, I believe Jannetty racing tested the CAI with the scoop. We don't make or sell those components so we do not test them.

I would think the scoop would only show its true benefit at speed, when air is being forced in from the front of the car, whereas on the dyno it will only show what benefit it gets from providing more open space for airflow below the CAI.

I installed both myself though and felt it was a good addition. If you're just worried about performance install the scoop and leave off the washer bottle to save weight in my opinion.
