PARIS (Reuters) - French carmaker Renault (RENA.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) had no comment on Wednesday on a report on the online edition of the Wall Street Journal that alliance talks with General Motors Corp (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) had ended.
The paper said, in a brief item on its Website, that the chief executives of GM and Renault-Nissan (7201.T: Quote, NEWS, Research) had terminated talks about a possible globe-spanning alliance, based on an unnamed person familiar with the situation.
"We have no comment," Renault spokeswoman Claire Martin said.
There was a board meeting at General Motors on Tuesday and afterwards the company did not make any statements regarding the alliance talks which had a mid-October deadline.
