If General Motors Corp. manufactures the Chevrolet Volt, the automaker will build the extended-range electric vehicle in its Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly plant, the UAW said Friday in its summary of the tentative agreement.

I LOVE the concept of the Volt, but the cars design is not practical. They NEED to make a 4 door version of this drivetrain. Think of the complete failure of the Honda Insight and total domination of the Toyota Prius.

The people interviewed didn't seemed overjoyed.

I had harped about GM needing to be a leader in innovation and new designs. This is their big chance to make it happen. Critics have said the battery technology wasn't availiable to make this happen, so we'll see.

Wow! It sure as hell is! I never examined it that close. I still say it's not functional as a 4 door, since there doesn't seem to be a back seat.
