I just wanted to say good morning. This forum has been an outlet for me and a way to get my mind off alot of my daily stressors and medical retirement. I wanted to express my gratitude to those I have befriended as well. Glad to have "met" some good folks here. Hope everyone stays warm - and drive safe! Camaro for life. :)

I definitely know what you mean Joe. MC.com has been great (and cheap) therapy for me too. I'm happy we could be here for you! :D

Try to stay warm. It could be worse...you could be having rolling blackouts like we are. D*mn powers been off 4 times today already...brrrrrr. :(

Come out west, it's only 26 here and no snow. It would seem all of our snow went east for the winter.

We are having rolling power outages. Which means our electric companies TXU/ONCOR/Reliant each in the DFW area are cutting off power for 20 minutes at a time to a certain amount of homes to help with keeping everyone up to energy. right now everyone is at home since the streets are 100% ice which means everyone is using a lot more electricity than usual. With it being a high in the single digits heaters are running a lot more and with how many people we have here in DFW the power company is struggling I hear.

( my neighbor works for TXU this is how I know this )

I knew that...but that's usually referred to as a rolling blackout.

Even here in San Antonio we've had rolling blackouts all day. We powered down half of our servers at work so we could let the rest of them survive on our 40Kva backup power system if the power goes out for an hour.

At least I have this place to come to, though I don't have many stresses in life, it's good to be able to help (or try to) whenever possible here. Be safe, be warm.

That's actually a bit harsh bro. I had a plane crash lasted year escorting a suicidal marine and the C130 lading gears never came down. I was able to wake my patient and secure, but when the plane dropped in altitude I wasn't secure. 2006 Wilford Hall left an infection in my skull for 2 1/2 years. Had that infection constantly draining down my throat into my stomach... Developed asthma and bad allergies as well as stomach issues. Back injuries, paranoia, depression, PTSD and etc.

How about not trying to get a few kicks of laughs in for a service member who constantly fought MEBs over the years to stay in and help the men and women get back home safe from down range. I'm not pleased that I finally have no choice, but to take my medical retirement as my conditions keep getting worse.

In fact I'm in an ambulance right now... Because of a doctor not paying attention and overdosing me last night and for my increase in anger and stress.

I do not need someone who has no knowledge of me and my own personal strife to take aimless jabs for his or her own amusement.

Grow up.

I'm sure you meant no disrespect, but given the conditions that our service personnel have endured for the last 8+ years has lead to a pretty big number of "medical retirements" from the service. The term retirement in this sense doesn't refer much to the gold watch type retirement you may be referring to, but more to the fact that the medical retiree is no longer able to perform the duties required by the U.S. armed forces, there is a huge difference. Although some service members do get injured and return to duty, not all of them are as lucky, and they do get retired due to medical conditions. From what I've read here, RiceAddict actually fought his case to be able to stay in the service and continue to perform his duties in service, but he lost that fight, and has been "medically retired". I commend him for his duty, and his effort to continue that duty. :patriot:

Man, sorry to hear of all of your troubles. My son was medically retired after he and his fellow soldiers were blown up in a Humvee in Iraq. His leg was pretty mangled and he had shrapnel all over his body. He also had some head trauma and has PTSD too. They managed to save his leg and he is doing better now. Too many of our guys and gals are injured over there and are medically retired like you have been. Good luck with everything and I hope you can get well soon!

No disrespect you have air force academy as your location and there isn't many reasons why a person there is getting out early.

I just got released today from the hospital. Still "sedated" from me medications I am taking. I'm not allowed to drive for a while until I am reevaluated. Sucks that one of my big stress reliefs can't be utilized... Guess the Camaro is going to stay in that garage for a bit. :(

Thanks guys. Its truly appreciated. I may not know you all in real life - but, it's a nice reassuring feeling belonging to a group and a decent "escape" from the stressors of day to day using the moderncamaro forum. I may be heading to CamaroFest, but I will most definitely be attending Motor Trends International Car Show in New Mexico. Hope to meet a few who venture out that way!
