Have we been spoiled on the concept look?

Hello,

I guess what I'm saying is, if they never made a concept and just went right to production, would we be picking it apart like we do when we see new shots of it? We've had almost 2+ years to really enjoy the look of the concept, so much that we almost wish we could just have that as is. I know it may sound like an odd question, but I do feel like I still like the concept over the production (yes, even some of the minor changes are throwing me off a little). Just thought I would get some other thoughts on the matter.

We probably would pick it apart anyway I would think.

Generally you're pretty critical on something the first time you see/experience it, whether accurate or not.
We do that to every new gaget are in this case the Camaro are
any other car and truck that is new. Just look at the I POD are
the I phone. This is our country....American Revolation :)

Not trying to flame here but, that is really hard to read and requires a lot of deciphering to get your point.

Since I cant drive mine the only thing I can do is pick on the concepts.
i agree, but at the same time i can understand the changes. when the concepts are built laws and regulations are not always taken into consideration nor is the pratcticality. the concept ismeant to spark intrest and get feed back. in the case of the camaro the only thing that is throwing me with the whole retro is the tail lights. the "69" was the base for it but the tail lights are like that of a "67-8" model. i wish they would have used teh three section lights from the "69" model year. sorry a lil off base i guess but i see your point.

I couldn't disagree with you more. The tail lights are more like the 69 than the 68 it just doesnt have 3 on each side. The 67-68 were flat, 1 piece rectangles 68's with dividers. The 69 were 1 piece also but but it takes the shape of the 69

If anyone saw a post I made in regards to the spelling mistakes in another post, please accept my apologies. It was degrading to the individual & another member has addressed it in a much kinder manner. Once again, I apologize for my rudeness....

I think its going to look bad ass..but thats IMO
The tailamp treatment is like the Vette as in it has 2 separate lamps on each side. However, they are slightly squared off so as not to totally mimic the Vette. The new Camaro tailamps are almost like blending the first gens with the 70-73 lamps....just my two cents.
I also kind of was happier with the concept. I know that there are the laws that are going to make some changes...but as for the overall look, I liked the concept more than the preproduction photos now. This is just my opinion and I am still planning on getting a camaro...I just may need to get used to the look.
They can never truly make a production model that looks just like a concept. This is about as close as they can make it, and still follow all the rules that the concept didn't have to follow.
It looks so much like the concept it wont take any getting used to, for me. On the exterior, the biggest change to me is the wheel size. There are now gaps between the tires and wheel well but I didnt want 22s anyway
Is there somewhere that has side by side pictures of the concept and the production models? I was really stoked when I saw the original pictures but I'm not that crazy about the white Camaro on the hompage and don't really know what all has changed.

Hint : Larger outside mirrors.
Is it the view or just the white that hides the lines but the door to quarter panel looks a lot better in the picture of the concept. Also, the stance looks much better on the concept. Are they running different tire and wheel sizes?
The white on the prototype definitely hides some of the details.
As far as body shape & body lines are concerned, there isn't much difference at all from the concept.

i agree there are not much changes in the body line, if anythinig they might have been smoothed out a lil. i just posted the side by side because someone asked, and i happen to have pictures from the car chow here in florida.
To me, this was the best look. It really shows how similar they are.
