Hex Vent install

I have Hex Vents that just came but I plan on putting them to the left and right of the cowl. I’ve seen a few pics of them that way but does anyone have some sort of measurements that work or is it a hit and miss situation? I also have the strut brace so not sure if it’s an issue either?
