I recently had a auto trans failure and the dealer's transmission specialist said the failure was documented in TAC #71-1503293626. First, I don't know what TAC stands for. Second, does anyone know how to find this documentation?

Thanks,
Al

TAC is Technical Assistance Case. Which means, with the failure the technician called GM TAC to find out if there was any other things they needed to look at that might have caused the failure or to get approval on the transmission repair or replacement, when you call them they give you a case # which is the number you listed. That way if the tech has to call back all the notes from the first call are typed in and followed under that case # for the next Technical Assistance Person to read and continue the case if needed.

Thanks. So the tech's findings weren't really described correctly to me by the service writer. No big surprise there. He made it sound more like documentation already existing that described my problem.
