Not to put too fine a point on this, but my wife and I both make an effort to buy Canadian wherever possible, even if it means paying a little extra.
We also preference North American products over anywhere else too.

There isn't one vehicle out there that is 100% American.
You can say 'well, it is 75% or 80% American so it's OK' but that is a gray area. Where do you draw the line?

The 'Buy USA' slogan for vehicles is dead, has been for a number of years now. Once the big three started partnerships like NUMMI and many others, they threw that out the window. Globalization is the way to go.

its not the truth...and I can tell you its called Preceived quality..actually for the last 5-6 years they have been better or equal in quality to Toyota in many of the cars they sell..higher quality rankings, higher in customer satisfaction..higher in many aspects..its all the preceived quality..its some invisible barrier that people like you stated..Toyota build more solid cars..
Its just a blanket statement thats false..

and here is one for you..one auto magazine rated the Toyota Matrix high in quality..and yet in the same article the Pontiac Vibe low..the kicker is Toyota designed both cars and the plant that builds Toyotas also build the Vibe, the matrix is built in Canada the vibe in the U.S...so the cars basically a toyota badged as a pontiac yet those cars get a better quality rating on them but the vibe gets lower??
