A statement from Joe Gibbs upon the announcement in 2003 that they would switch from Pontiac to Chevy:
What do the drivers think about the switch?
"If you think about a drivers makeup, what they're wanting to do is just make sure you have absolutely the best motor, the best crew cheif, the best crew, and the best car, because you only have a certain number of years to do this."
Do you think Tony Stewart believes that Toyota is the best car and offers the best motor?
Do you think Tony Stewart is wondering if he can win another championship in a Toyota?
Could Tony Stewart end up leaving JGR due to JGR trying to save a dime by having the Toyota engine program?
Is it a dime holding up a dollar, and possibly holding back a champion?

JGR is not only a sellout, but also a lunatic since he doesn't even believe what he said himself.
Just further proof that NASCAR doesn't care about the racing or the fans.
It's all about money, and nothing else matters.
Eventually NASCAR will learn the hard way that it should listen to the fans.
I'm still a pretty avid fan of NASCAR, been following it for almost 25 years.
But this Toyota BS pisses me off. :angry:

Isn't the Toyota always the last car? I don't watch NASCAR..I respect it..but I was never a fan of it. It's an AMERICAN thing..and putting in a foreign manufacturer is just bad. And before Sluuuuuuug gets on my ass for Toyota bashing..I'd feel the same way if they put a BMW in Nascar. It's just not right.

Yeah, Toyota is performing poorly so far in the Nextel Cup Series, and marginally better in the Busch Series.
Why you would switch away from the dominant make to the one that can hardly qualify a car is beyond me.
The only possible answer is for the money.

your telling me the core audience of southerners who enjoy Nascar and from the things I hear sticking up for american car companies are just going to sit back and watch Toyota slowley come into NASCAR like they did everything else?? Why there is no fan backlash is beyond me..really..I think this was my last year even considering watching NASCAR...BIG F'in JOKE!

Anyone with the last name of "France" should be punched in the face, anyway.
The only way to let NASCAR know that the fans won't put up with this is to do something that won't happen...to not go to the races. Have them show on TV to totally empty seats. It'd be really effective, but it won't happen.
Best place to hit big business is the only place it hurts..the wallet.

I was never really interested in Nascar(just not my thing, I don't watch sports either). But I know it's one of America's biggest things..started in America with Americans using American cars...and having a foreigner intrude upon it....it's just not right.
I don't mind the foreign drivers the much.
But I do mind the foreign tracks they've started going to.
They should stay at tracks in the USA.
And as you can probably tell, I think foreign cars have absolutely no place in NASCAR at all, and about 90% of NASCAR fans would agree with me.

VERY well said Tim!Nope, he just doesn't wanna hear the truth.
Ultimately, he will kill NASCAR.
If Brain keeps doing what he's doing with NASCAR, it will be dead in 10 years or less.
It's a **** shame.
NASCAR is losing TV ratings, as well as people in the stands. I chose NOT to renew my tickets to Talladega after having them for numerous years, and I'll be giving up my seats at Charlotte and Daytona after this year.
