As many of you know, my 350 that I had installed a New cam, Lifters, Injectors and timing chain.
Decided to take a dump on rod bearings
As of now, ive located myself something to drive.
Now, heres the question. Which should i do???
Time Frame.. By next summer id like to have it back and running.
1. LS1 Swap ( my favorite idea, the problem is the cost.. and associated wiring and adaptors would make it a royal pain in the balls, especially if i had to do it over my friends house... and not my school * there bitchy about that*
Benefits- More power, More efficiancy, Newer technology, and a general badass motor that would gain ALOT with mods.
Negative - Initial Cash involvement....
2. Total Motor Overhaul
- I was thinking bore 30 over, New bearings, and a forged piston rebuild kit....
Benefits- Obviously still going to cost a bit, but i know its like new.. and Itll get it back on the road.
Drawbacks- its still a gen 1, less gas mileage...Less power
3. Bearing slap
Pull the motor, replace the lower end bearings and give it some new oil, clean out the pickup etc, maybe a new oil pump and cross my fingers that theres no other damage
Or theres always Lt1 swap, which is kinda like a ls1 swap just easier
Chime in guys!
