LS3 supercharger, when the Z28 (I am only asking this now because they are actually testing a Z28) comes out do you think that GM will warranty the supercharger install? I know there are a few outfits right now that are taking over the responsibility of the warranty when they put on thier brand of SC, but do you think I will be able to go down to my dealership and get a SC installed and get it still covered? And, do you think if it is covered that they will require a trans/drive line/rear diff upgrade along with a SC before honoring the warranty? All hype here since this is not a real possibility yet, just curious.
Lastly, with everything stated above do you think this will cost more than 8K installed?

no, I don't think the fact that the Z28 will have a SC is gonna make a difference. GMPP released a SC already and it's "for off road use only"...no warranty from GM.

From what I've seen, SC installs run around 7-9k depending on what you're getting, NOT including any trans/rear upgrades.

See that's pretty lame, if GM is building a production Camaro with a SC, not an "off road" aftermarket or a Vette-designed one, then why in the world would't they warranty it? This leads me to think their engineering and craftmanship is complete crap because they are not willing to stand behind their product. My original idea from the day I ordered this dream car was to keep it an All-GM car, at least for the mechanical/engine parts. It's not like I even have the cash right now to slap on a SC, I am still saving up for the headders! But once I do get the $$, what would motivate me to spend more on a GM part when they will not warranty it? This just makes no sense at all to me, if they doubt the capabillities of the dealership mechanics to do a good job they should designate a reputiple shop to do the installs for them. This is not a family cargo van or sedan, people buy this car because of the image and idea behind it, and that same idea leads the immagination to go "what if?". GM needs to get more involved in the aftermarket modification of these cars, even if they only make a "regional" location where this work will be certified, I would drive a few miles to get it.

if your worried about warranty, just get the tvs2300 or e-force... but it will be interesting to see what they end up putting in the Z28 for real, then maybe you will have your definitive answer.

Yeah, I know this is still speculation at this point, with no actual Z28 to referance it is all BS. But PF makes a logical point, and if you go off GM's stance on GMPP parts it makes sense. The warranty has not bothered me when I painted the GFX, it did not bother me when I put on the Air Aid CAI, but when you start taking the actual motor apart then I start to get nervous. If I had lots of cash this senario would not bother me, but with the expense of the SC and the potential for catastrophic events, this one worries me. The only one I can think of that has had a SC put on here is hypurone, and that seems to have preformed well for him so far.

i dont think there is any way, now , to figure out if it would be under warranty. we dont really know what the exact motor, tranny, gearing options are going to be. just go to a place like lingenfelter or hennessey or callaway, and get the tvs 2300 installed. you get a warranty through them.

you can do a vortech or procharger tuner kit for around 5200. not too hard to install yourself either.
