While many have known this to be a fact for some time, Lutz confirmed the existence of a B-Pillar on the production Camaro.

I dunno why Edmunds calls it a 2010 Camaro, cuz we all know it's a 2009.

It's just needed for structural rigidity, and saves several hundred dollars per car, not to mention a couple hundred pounds of weight as well.

As stated in the article, Challenger is the same way.

Not a big deal to me. :)
I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a 'hidden' pillar, set behind the side glass.

Now the question is..... will the rear windows roll down? They don't on Challenger.

Well hardtop 94-04 mustangs were the same way. The glass covers the B pillar (the glass was isolated in 2005 on the mustang). On the hardtop camaros, i wouldnt want the rear windows to be able to roll up and down for a few reasons:

-accidentally hitting the rear window switch when rolling down front windows (i do it all the time on my convertible)
-another area for a leak to happen down the road
-more weigh due to mechnical equipement
-another window motor to eventually have to replace
-doesnt serve much purpose on a hardtop

This doesn't bother me one bit. I still hope the get rid of the "elf ear" mirrors and the scoop on the top of the bumper (it looks SSSOOO much better smooth). Oh, and I'm rooting for a rear mounted filler neck.

Won't bother me either. But I disagree with Devryn. When I see a 'smoothed' Camaro..it feels like something is missing right there. Just a big empty space. I much prefer it with the little scoop.

What exactly is a b-pillar and what is the difference between it and a hardtop. Does it look dramatically different or is it just a change in material?
The B-Pillar is structural material that is basically veritcal between the roof and the rear quarter panel on a two door coupe. It goes between the glass for the front door and the rear quarter glass. I'm trying to dig up pics...

This is the best I can find right now :D
