Right on ! It really is a great way to track what you are doing and what you have done. Funny thing is I always feel like I am behind on my mods ,but then I look at the thread and it is going pretty well. Could do more with more time and money ,but that is nothing new.
These are usually called "Build Threads" and I have been pushing this structure for awhile now.
Most auto websites are run that way, so the other subscribers to the site can follow your build in one place and if you have questions, you can ask those in one place and we don't have 15 threads asking the same question.
Regardless if you have a build or not, having ONE thread for YOUR vehicles is an efficient way to keep up with the person and the car!
It is usually a quick sell to older members, but the youth today want instant gratification, so they post away 15 million questions and have 27 different threads for their 27 different modifications on their cars.
