Does this mean there will be a different exhaust note from this engine compared to the LS1/2?

So 30-36 more HP than the LS2, emissions improved by 40 percent in NOx and 12 percent in hydrocarbons and more efficient to manufacture.
All with the same gas millage. Sounds good to me. add cylinder deactivation and it should be even better.

I got 30.5mpg in my 2001 Z28 when it was stock.

But I agree with your point, 430hp and 30mpg is a pretty good feat.
