An aftermarket company has developed a folding hardtop for the current generation Mustang convertible. I hope that this increases the chance that the Camaro will get one as well.

I'd say there's a decent chance at this will happen for Camaro too.

I can see the aftermarket having one.
Not for me, Im one of those who would think it was more hassle than it is worth. My car won't see much inclement weather anyway

In all honestly, GM could definitely make a hardtop convertible from the facotry for Camaro.
It really is possible.

The problems are:
- it would drive the cost up about $7500
- add about 200 more pounds to the car
- subtract 80% of the trunk space

So that's why it won't happen from the factory.

$7500 seems a little high to me. I'd pay $3500 for it over the price of a softtop convertible, though.

Yep, for niche cars like the SSR or the bathtub, err, G6 convertible, that works great.

For a performance car where weight is an issue, it is not so great
