Ok guys don't flame me because its a Nissan.

I am getting a truck around Christmas. I've had my eye on a Titan for quite a while now. I think its the best looking truck out there and it has 318HP and 385 ft. lbs. of torque so its got plenty of power. It will tow 10,000 lbs. Im looking at the highest trim level, the LE, loaded. It has a spray in bed liner, the utili-track cargo management system, a bed extender and divider, steering wheel controls, leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, wood interior trim, navigation system, rear dvd entertainment system, chrome big tow mirrors, chrome door handles, 4 wheel disk brakes, anti lock brakes, power rear window, heated seats, auxiliary input jack, sunroof, heated power mirrors, fender well locker, Rockford Fosgate sound system

I'm looking for input from you guys on the truck. Have any of you guys owned one or own one now?

I think with a new exhaust and a cold air intake i would be making around 350 HP and 400 ft. lbs. of torque

Here's what i want to do to it.It is black and already has chrome mirrors and door handles. I want to add:

My Brother has a Titan. It took him an extremely long time to choose a truck, but he eventually settled on a Titan... When I first heard about it, I wanted to slap him and ask why he didn't buy a New Sierra or Silverado, but I kept my mouth shut and wanted to get a first hand experience (no pun intended). I came away pretty impressed. He's a speed freak, though. I didn't think a Titan could get the job done, but acceleration was quick, body roll was minimum, the brakes are great and the seats have nice lateral support. Since he's a crazy driver, I paid attention to all these things- and it's good that I did, because the truck has grown on me since. I say it's a good choice.:D

If you have comapred trucks and it is the one you want - I say go for it :D

Are you buying it new? Are you considering having the dealer add the accessories?
no used.... 14,000 miles on it.... I can't afford a new one. new would run about $46,000 and i getting this one for 18,000

all of the accessories are bolt on or stick on with the exception of the exhaust. I am not sure what exhaust I'm goint to go with either.... I dont want it loud at all but i want a nice faint rumble at idle and a powerful sounding rumble at throttle and then back to quiet at highway speed....

and btw I'm having a muffler shop install the exhaust so that they can weld it all up.... i'm also considering adding an electric cutout :D when i want to be super loud.... and i can hook the switch to one of the blank buttons in the dash

anybody have any suggestions?

Buying used is the way to go for sure :D

I'd seriously checkout Titan related forums and the web for common issues with those trucks. Also, does it still have any of the factory warranty left on it?

Regarding the accessories, that is your personal touch

Exhaust - again - hit the Titan forums for what people have used and their thoughts :D

I've floated around the titan forums and It's just not the same as here and there is too much personal preference info given out then factual information. the only solid data i found was about the AEM brute force intake which i am convinced is the way to go

I bought a Titan new in 04 with the off road and big tow package. I have over 110k miles on it now. It's been a great truck. I wouldn't clutter it up with all of the accessories you're thinking of adding. It doesn't need all of that.

Usually an intake and exhaust fair well on todays trucks.
Maybe go with a Flowmaster or magnaflow muffler setup on the new truck. They sound the best IMO

Titan is a decent truck, but it's no Silverado IMHO.

One thing that raises a red flag to me about the Titan is that Nissan themselves are not very confident in it... they want to sell rebadged Dodge Rams instead of the Titan they build now.

Just food for thought. :)

That's right. I almost forgot the 2nd Gen Titan is going to be a Dodge Ram. If it looks like this:

I will laugh. It's not bad, but it's funny, because it looks like a frontier and a tundra mixed up. I'd pass on that one.

Wow, I had to check to make sure I wasn't transfered to the Al-Qaeda network forum. Why do you hate America? Hells Bells, lets all run out and buy that niffty 350Z and on the way we can stop for rice cakes and sushi. Just kidding, hope I didn't offend anyone, my wife's Asian so I think I'm allowed to write that. Seriously, why do you hate America?

Who are you talking to? Super Sport? Just because he doesn't consider an American truck doesn't mean he hates America. I got a Hot Dog at Costco today. Does that mean I hate Pizza? nah.... But I am hungry again.

Way to take a civil discussion down the drain... take this elsewhere.

You should seroiusly find a truck forum. Earlier I came across a group of guys that HATED their titans. One complained it couldn't tow since it grenaded the rear end several times and nissan wouldn't take it back under lemon law. Aonther guy complained of trans failure. If I can find it again I'll post back. Personally I always wondered why in the local classifieds so many people had late model nissan trucks for sale.
