Pontiac's Vibe small wagon will get an update for the 2009 model year. It will be in dealer showrooms early next year. Here is a preview look at the '09 Vibe GT-the real deal rolls out at the Los Angeles auto show in mid November.

Hey, it looks like in 09 it's no longer going to be a rebadged Toyota!
Good.

That's too bad. It might be worth buying if it were.
It already is a rebadged Toyota. Which is why I don't like it.

That's because you're an automotive racist. How do you like that Isuzu you drive?
And you're being an ass.

I don't like Toyota, never did, never will.

Let's cool the 'tude guy. So, since I've never bought nor want to by an import would I fall into the automotive racist heading?? Why such a thin skin about imports?

Oh geez. Just joking around. Seriously though, Lulu has a seriously unreasonable hatred of Japanese and Korean cars.
Well, it may be unreasonable for Japanese cars, but as for Korean ones... :D *adds oil to fire*

Anyhow, this thing looks a lot less fugly than the Matrix. Not that that was very hard, but still.....
I'm pretty sure it will still be a sister to the Matrix.
Which is a shame, cuz GM could build it better.

The Pontiac Vibe is GM's WORST BUILT vehicle.
It's built by Toyota.

Go figure.

Ironically the Matrix is very well built. :) When we bought the Corolla we test drove the Vibe's and Matrix's.
Devryn, I've only heard complaints about the interior and build quality, and some even about the chassis. When such complaints come from huge believers in Toyota/Honda, I take them pretty seriously.

Then again I don't care. I wouldn't buy a Toyota Matrix and I wouldn't buy a Pontiac Vibe. My next car will have to be a bit more...serious. ;)
I dislike Honda, Toyota, etc. not because they are foreign companies..but because they are foreign companies that are DIRECT competition to the US automotive industry. Which is why I'm not bothered by Porsche and even BMW to some extents. Because they aren't DIRECT competition to the US automotive industry.

Ironicly, we treat them like an enemy, but they helped bring American auto manufacturers to the next level, and as though i do hate them... they still make a good enough product to compete.. and competition is good for business.

Unless... well if were getting beat which we were..so maybe its a twisted hate inside of us to know the japs build better stuff or that people are screwed into thinking that way

What makes me the most irked are that people STILL believe that foreign stuff is better. While domestic vehicles are constantly ranked higher than their foreign competitors today.

And there is no law saying I can't loathe them and will never drive a toyota/honda/etc. let alone own one.

In a retail market there has to be competition, if there wasn't, there'd be no drive to improve everything. Like fire said, without them we'd be stuck. I don't know where you get the idea that EU companies aren't direct competitors. Why do you think GM is making this super luxury but still super performance cars in it's Cadillac brand? Do you think the G8 was built to compete with the 300s and Chargers? No, it was built to compete with BMWs and Mercs, but kick the crap out of it's Japanese "competitors."
Seriously bro, that S-10 you drive, one of the best selling small pickups ever, is an Isuzu design. The 4 cylinder used in them is an Isuzu design. The 2.2L Ecotec is a variation of an Isuzu design. Vibes, Escorts, Aveos, B2000s, among others are all Japanese or Korean engineered cars.

My Corolla is an AMAZING car. The build quality was EXCELLENT, it gets GREAT gas mileage, and it's not a rattling piece of plastic turd, which the Cavaliers and Neons were at the time.
I just went to Vauxhall's website and looked at the Astra. Seriously, the 09 Vibe looks quite a bit like the 5 door Astra.

My s-10 uses a V6 :D.

And I never said I hated Isuzu. They aren't a direct competitor of GM, they are a close buddy of GM. GM supplies with with stuff, Isuzu supplies them with stuff. I have no problem with Isuzu, I neve listed Isuzu as a company I loathed.
That being said, I still wouldn't buy an Isuzu. Simply because I don't want to.

...and you're angry at the people why?
I never said I was angry at the people. Read what I typed. It "irks" me in general.

It's not that hard to irk you. :D

Seriously, though, put your imports hate in your sig and stop mentioning it all the time. If I can stop defending my preference for German engineering, you can zip it a bit, too. ;)
