Interesting, yes. Logical, not to me. So, of the 5 engines that they decide to talk about, one is dying, and the other 4 are Supercharged V8s? How many supercharged V8s does GM have to have? Seriously, where is the talk about the LS3? If the Z28 gets the LS8, it's going to be out of my price range. That's kind of a bummer to me.

If the internals are what they say they are as long as boost is kept where its at shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, I would welcome it.
I'm sure GM knows what they have to do to make it work.

But yes, LSx motors are very strong and reliable
I know people with blowers on their LS1s running 5-6psi for years and years on otherwise stock motors, and they've been just as reliable as factory.

I wonder what kind of boost numbers these new engines are going to produce.

I think 5-6 psi is a safe number for any stock int ls motor. But.... I'd like to known like you and the rest of the performance junkies here, how much boost can the stock ls3 int handle?
I've seen stock ls2 vettes at Cordova run forced or a 300 shot with no problems. My GTO though is another story. #1, 2 piece driveshaft, #2, cluch, #3, beefed rearend(bmr) components, #4, differ., and so much more that I will wait for a production Camaro that I can drive off the lot with 500+ hp.

Back to the engines, I just want a 400hp NA 6 speed. I would love to go high end and get a supercharged car, but it just won't be something I could afford.

I can't see GM making 4 or 5 different supercharged engines.

I expect our camaros will get:

base model: 250hp engine out of the base caddy cts.
V8 option: 425hp LS3
and maybe the LS9 as topline of the line motor ala ZL1.

CTS v will get a detuned version of the LS9

and chevy will discontinue the Z06 when the ZR1 hits, until the next generation corvette arrives.
