Possible to order an Camaro for import ???

Hi Guys:hello:

Have a little question;

Is it possible for me to pre-order now an Camaro ? Im sure 100% i will buy one, but i must import the car here to germany, i will "can" not wait one more jear for the european Version in the mittle of 2010. (so im going crazy )
My plan is to import one and hope i become all street legal (TÜV). Hope i can drive the Car in summer 09.
In the next Days i will contakt any import-companys here in Germany and ask for import-prices , but i think the import-companys are not official GM dealer so they can not make me an pre-order
Is there an way for online Order? I think the import-company needs an GM-Dealer where he can talk with for the order.

Any ideas????

Many Thanks Blacky :patriot:

Get ahold of Camaro Scotty here on the boards im sure he can help you figure this out.
There are differences between the stateside models and the export models like taillamps, right hand drive, etc. If you were to procure a stateside model and maintain TUV as you call it, then modifications would be required, no?
Hi
Yes thats right there are differences between the stateside models and the export models but only the lights and the Tach-Gauges.
Right hand drive is england ;)
Few minutes ago I talked with an importeur on the phone, he meant that it no problem last with the TÜV guidelines.
(with the Mustang or Challenger it was the same - the cars are not offizial build for the european market and for the importeurs or european buyers was the same problems in the beginning)
There is a special arrangement if still no change of sentences exesist and 2009 gives it still no conversion kits for the Camaro ,
the euro version only 2010 appears there. The problem is only with the lighting and the KM/H Gauges in the Tacho/speedo . But there are possibilities and ways that to get. An big point for me is - i dont like the amber rear lights in the back, and so is an way to become an special arrangement to become the car registred with the red ones:D
Little modifikations are possible- but , better than waiting one more jear. And the pricing in USA is cheaper then later here in Germany i have here the Price is around 45,000.€ for an 1SS that are 61,100 dollar for an 1SS:mad:
If i import 1SS for around 34,000 dollar with shipping and all it cost me maximal 40,000€ so i saved around 5000€ or more if i can make an selfe-import , but that is not so easy with all the rules and papierwork:confused: (have no plan about this)
so you can see here in germany nothing is cheap, and for me its better to buy in US- so i think

US dealers cannot sell outside the USA. You can import a USED Camaro though - if and when you can find one.
Hi
so i see the next problem to find an used Camaro for the first quater 2009:confused:
I look what the importeurs make, the Dodge Challenger was fast in europe
bring from the Importeurs. I hope the Camaro comes with the same speed.Or i come to the US and buy directly- so the dealer sells not outside- i take the car outside.
Thank you for your answere. hope i find an way to come fast on an Camaro:bowdown:
*brings back dead thread*

I think it speaks a lot to the awesomeness of the Camaro that people from the land of Porsche, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz want one. ;)

Best of luck getting your hands on one of these!

if you can get or use a us address u can do it that way or get a demo model with 1000,3000 miles, there is always a way if you want it bad enought.
no need to import it yourself any longer
gm germany as well as gm europe will start importing euro spec camaros (with all the stuff that is required in germany) from sept 2011
the french and italien websites even offer lists about the specs and prices
even the towing capacity of the coupe and the vert are quoted: 453kg, that is 900 lbs

yeah
and gm is finally giving us some camaros (at least they are announcing it all over europe on their websites)
still smarter than ford
tons of mustangs are imported by indipendent dealers...
(the could have made the money themselves)
When do you get yours. Sep is just around the corner...

:rolleyes:only god knows
(you know, some members have these smileys carrying a sing: your dealer is an idiot...)
well
my dealer still does not know anything (the last call i gave him was yesterday), in fact he is learning from me all the time
no order codes, no nothing
on the french and italian websites of gm you can find (only after intensive search) some fact-sheets (the french one even has weights and towing capacity of the vert!!!) but still no colours
so
i have the money piled up here (not at home, in the bank) but i do not get my car, because you cannot order it...
i guess this is due to the fact that in sept 2011 there will be the international autoshow IAA in frankfurt, and they are gonna present it there and after that there will be the official start
the next prob is
the desired car is an L99 vert, rjt (dead, so crystal red claret (supposed not to come for 2012) so ibm (fbodfather himself said it will return)) with tan top and tan int and 20 inch polished wheels
so: will they offer the tan top for the euro spec car, as well as the tan int (i have seen first pics of a tan int of a 2012 my (dashboard changed!) and i love the looks)
so i guess it will be spring 2012 before it is here;)
in the meantime i will keep in contact with the :5go:-community and continue to learn about the car to be able to teach my dealer:lol:
