Problem with interior trim

Not sure if this has been brought up but I have an issue with the radio. While the stock unit looks pretty cool, I like aftermarket head units better. Especially if I want to add DVD or Navigation. With the stock unit in the dash as represented in the concept as shown, after market head units are going to be a problem. Actually, this has been a problem with late model vehicles for the past 10 to 15 years or so. And with some cars, you can't change the stock unit out for an after market unit.

I'm sure this applies to other parts on the car as well, maybe even the speakers.

Well, we can only hope that much of the interior gets a lot more reasonable.

You can go way too far with retro. I would guess that most people want a well layed out interior and not what the concept has.
I usually go for the upgraded sound from the factory. But I gotta question. How the H do you work the radio/CD player in that???
I love the radio on there, rumor has it they are/were planning to have the radio details show up on that orange strip on the dash there. That would be badass.

GM will not put that interior in the Camaro, the production interior will be different.
A little more like the G8? I would be happy with this in the Camaro, but I don't know about the aftermarket people.

I hope it comes with guages instead of idiot lights. Speedo, tach, oil, temp, battery, oh and fuel. Also a driver info section of instant economy and trip economy-gallons used avg mph, avg mpg. My 03 HD silverado had that and i loved it. Didnt love the avg mpg though  it was 12.7. The LS2 GTO's have it also.
****, that'd be cool.

All that (otherwise usless;)) info is standard in almost ALL the chevys...if not all. If you go to that Chevy Nation site, and read what Micah Jones has to say about the concepts Interior vs Production...they're keeping a lot of it.:D
I can't imagine they are keeping the interior on the concept. They don't normally do that. It sounds to me like he means that they are keeping the exterior the same. The concept interior is not functional at all, it's more for show.
You Absolutely sure about that?;) They put a LOT of work into the interior. And GM has even commented before on how concepts don't normally have that done with them. Of course a lot of the billet will change to chrome-painted plastic:p. But I think the overall design is gonna be very close to what we see here.
I agree, they ARE putting more useful gauges in..and Octane said the console gauges will be optional. I hope they keep the radio layout though, that thing is sweet.

Thats almost perfect. Keep the center console gauges and billet shifter and thats all it needs.:roxor:
