I have been a chevy guy my hole life. my first car was a 1985 IROC camaroZ28.. Well I have seen some price guessing on here for the 2009 camaro ss and the Z28CAMARO. I just wanted 2 know why is the Z28 seam 2 be more pricey then the ss. I though the ss was the top of the line when it came 2 chevy . and they have the Z28 with more hp than the ss. could someone clear this up for me . thanks chevy freek out.
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

It is speculated that Z28 coupld possibly be the top dog this time around.
But nothing is certain yet, and we won't know for some time yet.

If you look at Camaro history, SS was not always top of the line, and in fact wasn't even around for most of the time.

If there is a Z28 model it will be a top dog Camaro our "cobra" sort of..if thats the game plan..:hello:
ss:patriot:

the best things in life come in multiples

i will be sorely disappionted if the z is top
Welcome:hello:
I still think the idea of "top car" between the SS and Z28 should be all on what the customer wants. Meaning if you want a handling and graceful car then Z28; if fast in the straight line then SS. I think the limited, real bad boy should be a ZL-1 (or something different.....COPO?). At least thats how I looked at the first gen SS, Z28, and other models.

I like to see Z28 and SS as option packages above the base V8 model.
Z28 PWNZ JU ALLZ !!!1!!!11!!!!! No don't really matter to me to tell you the truth I just want the one with the most HP. SS, Z28, Powder puff (cream puff is taken ). I'm brand specific and vehicle specific but not so model specific.

I'd like to think of the Z28 as more of the GT500 personally :patriot::roxor:

Yes I also agree with that, it just has that [email protected] feeling! lol But if SS becomes the top dog I really don't care, afterall it's just a name, it's still gonna be the camaro, and it's gonna be loaded!! :D
And for the competitions sake it will be a loaded Barrett .50 .

Nahhh..to way overpriced for what you get..even without the dealer markup..
at least a Cobra was still in the realm of possibility of the average Joe going in and buying the car.
If the Z28 came out with that sticker price for performance I would kinda be let down. Just does not carry the same vibe for me. To me Shelby has the same aura as Baldwin, Saleen, Yenko...those top of the line cars..I threw Saleen in there..why??? Well we know.. ;)
But again you get what you pay for and Shelby is just that a Shelby..but not like it was..
I would put those as the top Dog Camaro before I put a Z28 .
Personally I would love to see the Z28 return to the option that the 1LE had on the 4th and 3rd gens..a no nonsence stripped road warrior that is a mean race and track fighter.

Z28 the top dog by power alone not add ons and stiched headrests.. ;)
Bingo! Stitched headrests are great, if you've got the performance and handling to back it up. If not, then you're seen as needing stitching to differentiate yours from the base.

I was comparing the Z28 Camaro with the Gt500 from a status and perfomance standpoint...

The days of less frills and more power are gone IMO. That is what the 2001 Z06 was supposed to be and we all know how that ended up.
Thats if the new Z28 is comparible to the Shelby..but as far as 4th gen and in the past..the GT500 is way far beyond the Z28 in many aspects..

But if the new Z28 is on par with the Shelby..then I will be happy :D

We all love a little happiness

Wouldn't that be awesome but I doubt the Z28 is gonna be comparable to the Cobra, maybe in some aspects but not all, I believe GM wants to the price reasonable also though. But I guess we'll see!
there are several threads about this, chevy freek. alot of good points were made in them. trying not to take sides in the SS/z28 argument and just pick the one that has the options i want.

...but deep inside, i have a strong feeling that the SS will be the power house and thats what i am looking for ;) i commented in one of those posts that if they are both just option packages, then my choice will have BOTH packages installed
