Hi all,
My Camaro is back in the UK now..............

And doesnt fit in the garage!! It's about 3" too wide for the doorway as is, and as the mirrors don't fold, I just can't get it in.

I don't want the car sat on the driveway (though I have got a cover on it)

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to get the mirrors off?

I assume the door interior panels have to come off then it's just a case of disconnecting the wires and un-screwing them??

I'm not back in UK for a while but I have a very mechanically minded (but most of all trustworthy with my toy) friend who lives nearby who has offered to take them off.

yes you have to take the door panel off to access the nuts on the mirror. I had to replace one of my mirrors cause I didn't pay attention one day and came out of the garage too close. A lesson that cost me 180.00 for a new mirror plus paint. If memory serves me right there are 3 nuts that hold the mirror on. I think I remember a youtube video that shows what needs to be done to take the panel off to get to the bolts. My question is what are you going to use to cover up the hole if you take the mirrors off. It really isn't that hard it just takes a while to do it.

Mirror has 3 10mm nuts. Then you have to disconnect the connector for the mirror and carefully pull the mirror out. Make sure not to catch the wire when pulling it out. The car comes apart pretty easy.

Thanks all, I am selling the SS (to fund an LS1) So the mirrors will come off and the car will stay in the garage until collected.

By the time I get posted back home the garage door will be replaced with a bigger one-it is brick, but the ball is in motion!!!
