There have been a few signature pictures that have gotten a little bit large.

So effective immediately, we are instituting a signature picture size limit of 500x150 pixels.
...this size is pretty much the normal limit on forums nowadays.
This is now noted in your User Control Panel on the Edit Signature screen right above the signature editor.
Text can be used in addition within reason also.

When we come across images of greater size than this, we will remove it and replace it with a reminder of the size limit.
Continued and repeated disregard of this limit will result in involuntary vacations.

The avatar size is automatically enforced when you upload a photo for your avatar. Even when you use an off-site source it uploads it to the server. It won't let you use it if it's too large.

I guess that would explain where mine went but I certainly don't remember seeing any reminder to that effect ... of course, I have no idea how to size a picture, so I guess I won't have one in my signature anymore ... oh well

I don't think the size limits have anything to do with what happened to your sig Hokie...no one's been enforcing that for a while. For some reason...everyone's sig has reverted back to their previous sig...even mine. I noticed it about two weeks ago...not sure why it happened though.
