It's that time.....time to renew my Sirius XM contract. First year was free when I bought Cami. Last August I called and was able to talk them down to $89 for year instead of the $209. So yesterday I called....spoke with 2 different reps and....they won't BUDGE. No.....discounts offered at all. I have 8 days before I need to renew......(between us all....I will renew at the $209....reluctantly....but they don't have to know that).

Has anyone renewed their contract lately???????? Any discounts???? One rep even asked me...."so you want to cancel"? I said probably but said I had some time to think it over. Yea....seems like they're not going out of their way this year to make sweet offers.

Call this number:

866-298-2518

It is not the normal CS number. The last time I called this number it was routed to New York and the corporate office. Tell them that your renewal rate is too high and you have heard of several cheaper rates. $30/6 months and $110/year ...

I have three radios (one lifetime subscription). The two others cost me $260 for the year. I hate that I have to pay a music royalty fee, but that is just how it goes. I need an ala carte program where I can pick the few channels I actually listen too.

Good luck.

I just paid $89 for a reduced menu I think. I will never let them not OnStar have my debit or even my credit card number. They will bill you FOREVER. I write & send a check.

True, but for $8/month I do not get live games/races ... For $11/month I got everything I wanted ... Channel 90 (Nascar). I hope one day I can pay like $50/year for the 3 channels I actually listen too. ;)

I went to college in Santa Cruz, CA (UCSC) … I have head enough of the Grateful Dead until I'm dead … just my feelings. If that works for you, then rock on!

So here's my update. I was so peeved after talking to the 2nd rep the other day. I told him I wasn't ready to renew at $209. He said" so do you want to cancel NOW"? I said "No....I have 9 days left on my current contract." I got an email later that night for a feedback survey. I wrote how unhappy I was with their customer service. Got a phone call early the next morning from the corporate office. He was extremely interested in what I had to say. I told him how the rep asked if he should cancel my contract. I said that was a horrible way to represent Sirius XM. He agreed and couldn't apologize enough. AND....guess what he renewed my contract through next August for $89!!!!!!

Something that they don't advertise at SiriusXM:

If you have a lifetime contract,(which they don't offer anymore) you can transfer it to another radio.

So...if you bought lifetime SirusXM for one of your cars, and don't want it on that radio anymore (sold it, broken, bought a new car, just don't want it there anymore) call them up and transfer it to another radio. Lifetime SiriusXM. I plan on doing this when we get rid of my wife's Saturn.

I dumped mine but I get new offers all the time ... all I want is NASCAR, so it just isn't worth it ... especially when we have it in 2 other cars ... my wife recently got billed on the credit card at full rate (agree it is a bad idea for them to have your credit card) she called them up and told them we were going to cancel and they gave us a much better rate (I forgot what it was, maybe half) ... they really need a different model for those of that want it only on select channels.
