I know " the movie not need mentioned on these boards" has hyped up the public on the camaro. But I wish GM would just throw us a bone. The 2008 Challenger has already got its production prototype rolling around and even the mustang has its 2009 model doing the same; its not like dodge and ford are going to change their cars now due to release info. Release info probably save the general public from dealership info BS and depressing rumors (like not having LS3).

Here is the spy shots of the 2009 mustang:

Not much change to me, but at least something. I see a 3-valve 5.0 and a snowball chance in hell for a GT with a 390 hp 6.2 hurricane engine.

Nice, but look just like i thought it would....a brick. Dodge is at least stating a 6.1 or 6.4. We have hoping for LS3s, LS7s, S/c LS3s, etc; but nothing to go off of.

I wish a production prototype will be made soon, as Im growing tired of no confirmed powertrain and cosemtic/model option updates.

GM ANNOUNCE SOMETHING!!!!! colors, finalize models, engines/trans, or something?:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

I think GM was to drop the bomb after everyone else has, like 30 seconds after, like the government does to cover up stories that they want to draw attention from......:)

Ha. Not likely.

The G8 is supposed to be coming out soon and GM still hasn't released colors, pricing, options, future engines (GXP), 6 speed availability etc.

I can see GM doing the same and sitting on their hands and waitng until the Fall of 08 before someone wakes up and decides to do something.

It looks like the stang is taking some things from their Shelby version..like the really curved hood. Hard to tell, though. Looks like bits from the italian and bits from the shelby.

Dammit. :BangHead:
Well the muscle war is going to be camaro vs challenger. I was hoping to hear something after the day the first challenger arrives at dealerships. I know the upgraded mustang is released as a 2009 model, but it will be released prolly between april-june 2008. it doesnt matter no way, even if GM released all info after challenger and before mustang, ford wont do anything to improve the mustang to be as good. That why I shun ford.

I believe ford took Henry Fords words too much to heart. "You can get it any color you want as long as it is black". Modern day marketing still has that mentality in there REGULAR lineup, "You can have it as fast as you like as long as it is 13 seconds".

My take on the competition:

The Mustang looks like a typical Ford "freshening". Change the grille and headlights and call it new. It doesnt look like the car from the A-pillar back has changed at all. How many times have they freshened the same old Focus now? 10?

And I may be in the minority here, but the Challenger is just F-ugly. That has to be the ugliest ass-end in all of automotivedom.

Just my .02.

While it's not the prettiest girl at the prom..it's not the ugliest. Almost every foreign vehicle (toyota, honda, etc) I find putridly ugly. Especially that celica that looked like a Picasso on wheels. With the useless hoodscoop and whatnot.

I need to hire an Australian photographer. :D ;)
..dont worry, our spy photographers are very good.

Last year, when disguised VEs were driving in and out of the Holden headquarters we had a big group of photographers camped out waiting to snap up a shot. We even had photographers chasing cars and getting out to photograph the interior while the cars were stopped at red lights!!
