My car has a loud squealing noise when turning the steering wheel. At first I thought it WS in the column. Then I popped the hood and had my wife turn the steering wheel. That's when I realized its coming from under the hood. Has anyone else had this problem?

No. Fluids are good. I seen some post on camaro5 some guys on that site having same issue. I spray the knuckle with some lube and it stops for a short while then starts back doing it again.

I turned the key forward, engine off, while turning the steering wheel I heard the noise. From the research I've done, I believe my rack and pinion is toast! My car is not under warranty. No recall on this. So I'm going to replace it myself. I found a remanufactured rack for $191.00, so this tells me it's a common problem but most were repaired under warranty.
