When the car has not been on for a while , you can get in and sit down , and hear a very slight electric motor noise. it is very faint. The sound lasts for about 5-8 seconds.

It is a little quieter than , say , the side mirror adjusting.

Any thoughts?

Camaro gremlins :dunno: /

Fuel pump !
I know the fuel pump sound , that is not it.
Gremlins ? , not in Virginia, at least not in Feb.

No key inserted , no stereo on.

My son and I were sitting in it the other day after having washed it, he heard it to.

I remember checking into this a while ago when I had my 2010. If you google "evap system noise when car shut off" You'll see it's a noise that occurs on all newer makes/models.

I can go into the garage hours after the car has been off and can occassionally catch it cycling.

Here's a link to a lexus forum that describes the same thing.

It's nothing to worry about.

Is it the window motor putting the window back to the top of it's travel? You probably have noticed that the window lowers by about 3/4 of an inch when you open the door.
