I installed a whipple supercharger on my convertible in my garage last week and thought I would share my journey with you all. My wife will be helping me with the install.OK to start my car has 2" ARH headers and I removed the cats and put in straight pipes.I have a CAI intake and Corsa exhaust. The car is currently tuned by JRE and will be re-tuned by Ted after I install my Whipple. I will be using a ZR 1 Bar Map Sensor,ID 850 injectors,ZR1 spark plugs,MSD Fuel pump voltage booster and a 3.875 pulley. Car was purchased from Camaro Scotty.

On my convertible there was a brace going across the front of the radiator. I removed to allow room for the inter-cooler. I will see if it fits after I install the inter cooler.

If you have the JDP color changing halos you will have to move the control box from behind the bumper. I moved it to behind the bumper on the right side

There is a tight spot where both hoses go threw on the right side. I took a large pair of channel locks and bent the tin over a little bit. I makes it fit threw much better. I touched it up with a can of touch up paint

I got the supercharger in and put roto fab covers on it.The covers fit well and look nice. I took my first ride tonight with my wife. After i drove around for a while to warm it up. I shifted to first let the clutch out and when i hit 10 mph i punched it . It immediately roasted the tires ,at 5500 I shifted to second and hit the gas and it roasted the tires again then i let off at 5500 enough till after i data log. My wife turns to me and yells next time warn me when your going to do that so I can put my head against the headrest. Third gear pulls like a freight train. All total it took my about 20 hrs. Not to bad if you can follow directions and have the tools. Boost went up to 9 psi. AF was about 11 at 5500 rpms. Time to data log.

Great job installing the supercharger...
Thank you. It was not to bad doing it my self. Felt good when I turned the key and it started right up.
very cool.
your car is gorgeous. the grille and color combo really work well together.

what HP/TQ numbers are you expecting?
Thanks I have been working on it since I got it. I also added all custom speakers 2 more 12" subs (besides the 10" in the rear seat) 3 amps to power it. One amp for the component speakers (150ch x 4) then a 1000 watt amp for the custom 10" I built into the factory spot and a 3500 watt amp for 2 more 12" subs that fit under the top when its down. 3 batterys and a 275 amp DC Power alternator to power it all.
very cool.

On 91 octane about 585 RWHP or around 700 engine HP. I am running just under 10 psi of boost at WOT.

Thanks . It was not to bad since I am a do it your self guy.
Sick ride man!!! Looks great. Is this your first supercharged car? If so, is it worth it in your opinion? I keep talking myself out of it.
Lets just say! Getting BLOWN is the best. Really makes this car fun. Just hit the gas and the tires smoke in first or second. Best $8000.00 I ever spent. Only down side is buying tires cause a cant stop my self.
Toddb..
Yo wife looks ready to get the job done... awesome wife !!
I bet ya two heart's jumps out when you hit the throttle :D
Luv the chrome/Polished housing and the covers... looking killer bro :roxor:
Another Sweet N' bad aSS Vert !! :5go::5go:
Thanks. Ya I'm a old school guy. I love chrome. You need to see my custom stereo and interior. All done by me in the last year and a half.
So you're frying tires and everything BEFORE the tune? You may break something after the tune... :)

Nice job!
No i have it tuned already. Did that before any full throttle driving. Ted from JRE tuned it for me. I data logged and then sent him the files.
:D can't argue with you there. I only have 11,500 miles on mine so wanted to drive it a bit before going blown. Figured I'd appreciate the power more then not to mention wanted to hold off for a bit just to make sure since warranty will go with it.

Anyways, congrats man.
I have 9000 miles on mine but its not my daily driver. When your ready go for it. If you drive to central Wi I will help you install it.
Time to add a cam. Looking forward to 650 rwhp.
