I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of the military men and women out there for your service!!!! It is because of yourselves past and present that I live a free life and feel safe in my homeland. It is all too easy to take what I have for granted, but in reality there are a lot of men and women that have lost their lives for me to be able to enjoy my freedom and lifestyle.

With that being said, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your service and please stand up in this thread and take the credit you deserve!!!

If there are others that just want to say thank you feel free to add to this thread as well.

My dad serve in the Air Force for 28 1/2 years did 3 tours of Vietnam. The best part for us kids is that we got to see places most don't.. I was born in Minnesota from there it was Chicago then off to Germany (which was cool got to go to Holland,Amsterdam,England,Switzerland and more, then to FLorida and now here in Alabama... Worse part is leaving friends every 3-4 years...But wouldn't trade it for anything...

Awesome, glad to hear people supporting us ya know. Yeah it does suck leaving people behind...My Mother ended up getting a cancerous tumor the size of a grapefruit while I was on my last deployment and they weren't letting me go home..she's better now, but now my Gma is on life support after a heart attack and triple bypass surgery down in Florida and I wont get to see her, it sucks not getting to see family, I see the ones in Michigan twice a year for a week at the most.
But I don't regret my decision of joining, I serve this country proudly and it has given me what I have today; A 2010 SS Camaro! lol I nice place to live, going to college, great paying job and they just took out 3 of my wisdom teeth for free! I also got to go a few places since I've been in, Miami during the Super Bowl, Tampa a few nights while I was on missions to Haiti (7 total), Ireland, Germany, Kenya, Djibouti, Afghanistan, Qatar, Kuwait, and about 5 states besides beautiful NC that I'm stationed in now. Love it.
Thanks again folks.

I used to work for a company that made Infrared Targeting Systems for Marine Helicopters. I spent alot of time with the Marines at Pax River. It was an honor.

Thanks for the support everyone. I just passed my 20 year mark in the Navy & I'm contracted for 10 more. I may even do 20 more. This is simply a way of living - helping take care of this country is a way of life, not a job & I couldn't be more proud to do it.

Thank you for your support, but you need to put it out their for the wifes, children and parents too, they sacrifice more than you can ever imagine to support their Soldier, Sailor, Marine, and Airman.

I give my thanks to my husband who has over 30 years in the Army as both an Infantry NCO and Officer, my Airborne Ranger. He will retire this summer and I can't imagine him not in a uniform, it's going to be quite a transition for he and I.

I give my thanks to my Grandfather, who will always be my Hero! He fought in WWII as a Navy SeaBee in the South Pacific. Grandpa, you ROCKED!!!

I give my thanks to my Father, who served in the Army before (thank God) the Viet Nam war. He was in Germany when the Wall went up, and he and his fellow soldiers did a lot of work to help prepare soldiers via training at Ft. Lewis before he got out.

I give my thanks to my Father-in-law, who proudly served behind a desk for 24 years.

And I give my thanks to my son, my young Airborne Ranger! I love you and I am so proud of you.

I am thankful for serving and being apart of the Navy. Not only do I have the privilige of protecting the greatest country in the world, but by also re enlisting after my four year mark, it enabled me to get my brand new 2010 Camaro SS. I'm thankful for what I have, and the Navy has opened up my eyes even more. People who have to shop at a thrift shop or good will should be thankful that they can even get shoes. I can't tell you how many countries I've been to, where everyone is running around barefoot. Its a real eye opener. Some people might be struggling in life, but I can tell you, we have it better than any other country in the world.
