I just wanted to thank all of you for the great information that has been provided me through this forum. As of yesterday, I am through with GM and will never own another. I was told yesterday that my order was in the system, but will never be built because my dealer closed. They were nice enough to tell me I could reorder my car and get it in November(1 year after my original order) as soon as the next closest dealer got another allocation. Now I started trying to head this off in January, but was basically ignored by GM. I guess they don't need money after all.

How could it be out of their control? The order is there in the system, dealers all around to deliver to, Money in the bank to pay for it. Don't see the problem.

Without understanding the order system completely myself, I cannot answer that question.

if you have the workbench # and if GM can see it in THIER system (not the dealers systen - 2 different systems), you should be able to contact the GM Rep for your area dealers and he should be able to get your order reassigned to another dealer................i would think!

Yea, That is what I thought also. The dealer that closed was a good friend of mine and he did all he could to get it switched. I was there the day the regional rep came in and discussed where to send it to. I also know the owner of the other dealership it was supposed to be going to be transfered to and he said his hands are tied because of allocations. If the first dealer had allocations that were transfered it should not have been a problem. I have been through all of this with GM on numerous occasions, so much so that they know my voice when I call. All I wanted for the last few years has been this car. I have all of my documentation on the car and have provided it to the dealership, regional rep, and GM many times. GM can see the order, but they say it is just sitting in the system.

ask your dealer friend if he can get you one from the GM factory sale at Manheim

the car will have may be up to a couple of hundred miles on it, and you will pay a lot less for it too

fyi - if ur at 1100 GM CAN"T SEE U! 1100 - order entered at dealership. 2000 - order pulled by GM (at this point GM can see you and would have control).

but more importantly......how is ur local dealer folding before getting ur order in, GM's fault? perhaps ur "buddy", who knew for awhile things were bleek for him, should have found another dealer and moved you're order for u......instead of waiting til' the last minute?

one of those grey areas i suppose, but being at 1100 then, is really NO DIFFERENT than being at 1100 at another dealer. you may loose a month getting in a longer line.............but AGAIN, my dealer can get u to 3000 within a week if ur interested...........U HAVE OPTIONS!

sounds like its more the dealer's fault than GM's. If you want the car bad enough just go to another dealership or deal with Camaro Scotty or Eric Hall here, they'll take care of you.

Well if GM can't see my order how are they tracking it????????? And as far as being at what ever at another dealership goes that won't happen. If I was gonna order again it would be through Scott(he offered to help me months ago), but I kept my word to the regional rep that I wanted this car. As far as my friend goes, he did everything he could to get the car moved. This was not a flameing thread, it was to thank scott and others for the help and info provided to me.

2010 after going back and rereading your post I see you are only trying to help and I appreciate it. At this point I am going to hold off and calm down for a while. It upsets me when I know that GM can see my order and I started in January making sure that MY order was moved to another dealer. GM is the one that said which dealer it would be moved to, but that is all water under the bridge now. I NEED A NEW TRUCK ANYHOW.

they can see "1100". but it hasn't been pulled into GM's system for sequence, production, etc., which means they can't do anything...........all i'm saying.

while i feel for everyone waiting (especially the Oct. orders), and i agree GM dropped the ball a bit on this or was forced to make "Good Business Decisions" over the wishes of us................THEY SAID FROM THE BEGINING THAT THESE WOULD BE DONE BY THE END OF THE 3RD QUARTER!

it's not the end of the 3rd quarter. it's not even the official end of the 2nd quarter..........an order under allocation placed now would still make the end of quarter 3 folks..........Fbodfather said all dealer knew this.

it seems that all the complaining and whining is solely being aimed at GM, and little of this seems to be thier fault................

8000+ Camaros produced in 2 months folks.................

we'll see all of 14000 produced within another month................

I lost my original order because the dealership closed in the first week of November. It was redone at the parent dealership. Don't know whay that's just how it panned out.
