My DIC looks like the one above. I press the set/clear button and in a few minutes it resets itself. No chinese fire drill, going from tire to tire.
Hold it down for about 10 seconds, and it will ask you are you sure you want to relearn.

When you say yes, then you can go from tire to tire.

Mine never resets itself...never heard of TPS being reset without this process or the tool.

I don't go from tire to tire. It takes care of itself. I always confirm TPMS readings with my handy-dandy digital gauge.
We're not confirming our readings, we're resetting the TPS sensors. This isn't related to tire pressure being low. This is how you reset your sensors when you put new wheels on.

Update:

Switched my dad's 45th Anniversary back to the summer tires.
This process was "SLOW" to learn the sensors. The tires didn't honk until I let about 20 seconds of air on each of them. I stood up to think it wasn't going to work then it honked and proceeded to the next tire.

We did add air to each of the tires to confirm, and my dad drove around a bit. I am thinking the older (2009) LS sensors might be more sensitive.

Nope...have use a tpms tool to re-learn ..Discount tire centers will do it for free.
Or just get something like the Kent-Moore EL-50448 TPMS Activation Tool and do it yourself going forward. All you have to do is put the car in relearn mode and press one button on this thing at each tire (near the valve stem) and done! I switch my tires left to right regularly, so for me it is worth it. Plus it can be used on other GM vehicles....

I have this tool and use it on my 2010 and my 2012 Equinox with perfect results. I had my dealer do it 3 times and was still getting erratic behavior on one tire/wheel until I bought my own tool... Granted there was most likely a prob with theirs but now I don't care and I don't have to GO anywhere to get it done!

Plus if you are like me and just take the tires/wheels loose to the tire shop to get them changed it makes it cake when putting them back on the car.... :D
