Top Recall

I know its been discussed by some about a top recall. I had the recall done last week and the only issue I have had with my top since buying mine was a seal didnt seam to go back in place after putting top back up. I was wondering if those that have had numerous complaints with their tops have had this done yet and has it resolved your issue (it did mine)?
Also was wondering if those with the most problems did you leave your tops down alot while parked in your garage or not?

Seeing my GM Service Manager

The Manager came out, went over the top twice, we had a good conversation.. I kept my cool, instead of punching him in the jaw/nose LOL,
(she's my baby, I waited so many years to get this vert, when I got her, I guess I was so overwhelmed.. I didn't notice them at first.)
He told me, out of 3years he's only had to replace two tops for the same issues, he felt I had a legit complaint.. "maybe",
he told the service guy to wright in a repair order for my concerns, over the rub marks & it would be on record, of the issue.
EDIT: At least that training came in to good hands, lol.. he didn't do what I was thinking he was going to do
I kept a copy, tho the service guy put Frost numbers down.. (haha) he put down she's a CAPRICE..WTH, no..... & the DMV did this too... LOL
I even wore my special cap, 69 Camaro, just for them, I can't believe they sell Camaro's & don't know much a bought them

Right before I left the Manager, I told him, if it comes to repairing my baby's top and his boss makes a big deal out of it..
to let me know, I know some pretty important people in the Camaro community that would be very helpful for us :5go:

haha.. not yet, tho the winter is coming and I'm sure that the rub marks may get much larger.. so hold on to those funds

I do wonder, if they realize how important these cars are to us.. I notice, most of them don't have a clue,
they might know what a Camaro is.. but thats a bought it  almost every sales dealer has no info or
ins & outs of these.. just because he/she wares fancy clothes doesn't make them more knowledgeable than
a long hair, biker, hippie, dressed in MMA shirt & camo shorts..
The bad thing a bought all of this, I waited years, for this Camaro, having my dream come to life.. just to worry a bought the top :(,
I should be looking at of all the MOD's and trips, I wanna go w/her on !
:blahblah: Sorry.. just  N' blowing off some steam.

I hear ya.....I owned a brand new car when I was 21. I've been saying for the past few years..." I WANT a Camaro convertible"....well here I am 54 years old and I finally had the means to make my want a REALITY. You better believe I'm gonna baby Cami. I have learned quite a bit in the short time I've been on this forum. You BEST believe I literally inspect the top every day for unusual signs of wear

This was posted yesterday by Tim DeYoung on the facebook page about these convertible top problems. Tim DeYoung is one of the Camaro Disciples.

"Here is what I have from the Camaro Team about convertible top issues...
Firstly, they are aware that it's a big big problem, and they are trying to fix it and make it right.

Secondly, the Camaro Team is working to create a checklist of steps to follow if you have problems with your convertible top. Scott Settlemire (Fbodfather) will post it when it's available. I don't know when that will be, but I will make sure it gets here.

Finally, if you are not getting cooperation from your dealer with convertible top problems, and they are failing to do what is right, you can e-mail Scott Settlemire directly about your case."

I was think thinking of buying a 2013 or 2014 Vert. After reading about them on this forum why would I want the aggravation?

Anne...I love my vert....had one tiny minor issue...weather stripping replaced....wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING. And I use my vert EVERY DAY

And I know how Wayne feels about his vert....he traded in Frost(his first) for Shadow...his current vert

Yea.. V.G.. is right, I really didn't have a huge issue or I wouldn't have gotten Shadow, my current Vert, she's a wonderful Camaro & so far, not many problems :D N' the ones I did have issues w/got fixed pretty quick

I am about to put another soft top on my 2011 carmaro. Here in new Zealand low km very expensive to replace after just buying it . No one over here wants to know about the problems but this has put me off the car now as it was my dream car.Gm turning a blind eye and not recalling to fix will put off new buyers, of any gm made car in future as the trust is broken
