Ok, this is what I did.... Jumped on Forza Motor Sports for my 360. Grabbed a 2002 Camaro gave it 425hp (close i could get it) and entered the trany ratios to give me a top end speed.

Most top end is limited by drag / hp / gear.

SS Model

TR6060 - 178.1 - Manual
SL80 - 182.8 - Auto

LS/Lt Model
Closest to hp I could get was 325

AY6 - 183.7 - Manual
SL50 - 167.2 - Auto

Thought the info would be kind of neat.

So the automatic will be faster. I guess that really defeats the purpose of AFM. :rotflmao:

The G8 was 139 and mine is removed. I have hit 163. I believe I read the Camaro will be in the 140s somewhere stock, but that can get raised at the very least.

Who is gonna take their car 170+? To me that's just dumb...
On a public roadway, I agree 110%, but there are those that strive to know their car's true potential (like me) and will arrange a top speed run on an airstrip for instance. It was never implied that top speed would be 'checked' on a public roadway.;)

I did mine on a closed section of road. The 175mph pass coming up I might do at Texas world speedway.

Wait a minute...no one else saw this and questioned this? The manual V6 is faster than the V8, I think not:confused:

That'd have to be a very long airstrip to get to terminal velocity in a Camaro. Anyone ever ran a car at an airstrip? Just curious about the legality of someone turning over an airstrip just so you can run your car...sounds like a lawsuit to me if something happened. Oh, and don't bother with the "I'll sign a waiver for damages incurred" deals...that doesn't fly in civil court.
