i really love manuals and my car is an auto. a friend of mine has a t56 just sittin around in his garage he said hed sell me cheap.
how hard would it be to do a complete swap??

Is it the car in your sig?

Things I could think of off the top of my head.

PCM (might need swap or programming)
transmission master cylinder
new piece for the shifter on the console
shifter
crossmember
New pedals

You may have to drill new holes for the pedals and shifter, but I'm not sure.

I did the opposite swap in a 91 camaro. It wasn't too bad, but wasn't fun either.

FYI: If it's out of an LSx type car then you'll also need a different bell housing if you have an LT1.

Its not worth the trouble. You'd definately have to replace the PCM. Brandonppr pretty much nailed it with his reply. If more powers what your after, there are easier less expensive ways to get it.

6 speed swap

I agree with Brandon, I did one on a customers 88 Trans Am. I had some wiring to figure out!!! You may need some pig tails from a donor 6 speed car so everything is correct ect ect! If you do decide to swap trans I have a used flywheel, clutch & pressure plate for LT1 6 speeds on the shelf! Good Luck!

Do yourself a favor throw in a 3500 stall and you'll forget about that T56 Garunteed. Stalled autos <3 T-56. You'll also come out alot cheaper with alot less headaches as well.
