Marketing Support:

Paramount Home Entertainment will support the home video debut of TRANSFORMERS with one of the biggest media campaigns in the division’s history. The multi-million dollar blitz will include television, print, radio and online advertising reaching a four quadrant audience. The expansive campaign also will include a viral marketing program in which fans can go online to customize a message for their friends from OPTIMUS PRIME and send it via telephone or email. In addition, an array of high-impact displays will be deployed to retail locations across the country. Promotional partners including Chevrolet and Hostess will also extend the TRANSFORMERS message to millions of people.

Each TRANSFORMERS DVD will include an insert alerting consumers to Chevrolet's "The Bumblebee Camaro Sweepstakes". Beginning October 17, 2007, fans can enter to win one of three customized Chevy Camaro cars styled after the TRANSFORMERS AUTOBOT BUMBLEBEE at chevy.com/camaro. The sweepstakes also will be promoted with a wide-reaching television, print and online advertising campaign that will further extend the DVD messaging and excitement.

I'd like to see it have the REAL specs on it...along with more pictures.
www.chevy.com/camaro comes up with a PAGE NOT FOUND, btw. :p
So it's not a simple redirect to /performance.

Want to watch it in HD? Then get a HD dvd player ;).
I don't like blu-ray...it sounds bleh and it is from Sony..two reasons right there. :p

And HD DVD is made by Toshiba and Blu Ray can store 25gb compared to 15gb on HD DVD.
Blu ray have BD-RW and HD DVD doesn't have HD DVD-RW.
Blu ray has more durable coating.
So far they have been priced the same.

I have a Blu Ray player and don't plan on getting a HD DVD player. My next computer will have a BD drive.
I understand the movie companies would rather have one format but I don't like this playing sides too much. I think they should put them on both and let the consumers decide what they want. When one comes out on top then at that time switch to one format. IMO blu ray is superior to HD DVD. As much as I want this movie I will not buy it on HD DVD or DVD. If I had a HD DVD player only I would be pissed if it was only on BD too. To me though BD leapfrogs HD DVD and will last much longer than HD DVD. On the other hand if HD DVD prevails I think it would be easier for the next generation format to be released. Sorry probley a lot of opinion in there:D
Off topic sorry :D

It will not be a while if any time for them to be putting it on Blu Ray...Paramount signed an exclusive deal with makers of HD DVD to put out thier material in that format. Stopped making blu ray on all of Paramount movies and the affiliated companies.

This is from Bay himself

Last night at dinner I was having dinner with three blu-ray owners, they were pissed about no Transformers Blu-ray and I drank the kool aid hook line and sinker. So at 1:30 in the morning I posted - nothing good ever comes out of early am posts mind you - I over reacted. I heard where Paramount is coming from and the future of HD and players that will be close to the $200 mark which is the magic number. I like what I heard.

As a director, I'm all about people seeing films in the best quality possible, and I saw and heard firsthand people upset about a corporate decision.

So today I saw 300 on HD, it rocks!

So I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2!

It's the same thing with videogames and when they're coded to run better on Intels or AMD processors. Or Nvidia or ATI graphic cards. They'll run on the ones they aren't coded specifically for..but they won't do it as well. The game company gets paid mega $$ to do it, and it annoys the hell out of us gamers. :p
