Curious if anyone would know how to drop a V8 engine into a V6 camaro, I know space under the hood is limited and it will be hard to trust the stock brakes on the vehicle but im torn on putting a V8 in with more power. Thanks

Fitment in the 2010 is easy, however gonna need some suspension work for the added weight. Would have been easier to start with an SS.

if you already have the V6 Camaro...it's not worth the $$ needed to do the upgrade unless you find a wrecked Camaro w/ everything you'd need...there's just too many parts you'll need to change. If you want more power, I'd just put the $$ into a Turbo or a SC for your V6.

This is one of the dumbest threads.

Sorry, but if you're serious, then why would have even purchased the V6 in the first place? If you purchased a V6 car and are willing to invest the money to convert it, then you would have purchased the V8 in the first place. No rational adult would do this - you are either dreaming or your parents bought you a V6 Camaro.

You don't think anyone ordered a V6 without driving one first?
Not completely out of the realm of possibilities.

I ordered a V8 without ever driving one.

If this joker is Refering to Swapping a V8 into a 5th gen yes i agree this is a Lame thread.

1. Most likely he bought a a v6 because Money and didnt wanna or couldnt afford the more expensive v8
2.Swapping a V8 into the New 5th Gen/wire Harness/Labor/Suspension/Drivetrain/ETC, will get him right back to the Cost of a SS

So yes i laugh at this thread.

OP, I have swapped dozens of V8s into places where they were never born.

If we are talking a carbed V8 into a pre-emissions vehicle in Texas, then it is not really an issue.

Brakes are a non-issue.

Hell, Fuel injected engines into Carbed vehicles are easy these days.

I know many people that have dropped cummins engines where CATs and Powerjokes were previously.

It all depends on how deep you pockets are.

Now as stated before, if you can let us know what year vehicles we are talking about, it would be much helpful.

We all started somewhere, but I was asking these types of questions when I was 16 and buying my first Camaro when was a Sophomore in High School. This is back when CamaroZ28.com was the popular board for TPI and LT1 cars. I digress...

While we do not know for sure if he has a V6, we know that is what he is talking about...

Yes, some may say my comments are "smartassed", but I prefer the term brutally honest. I'd expect the same in return ;) When questions and comments like these are proposed that are totally out of left field, then I can not control myself
