My first post with my new 2010 SS.
I noticed anytime driving at any steady speed 25 or more. Not accelerating or slowing down at all, this noise from the back of the car area, with a vibration starts, every time. It sounds and feels like the car is lugging. Almost sounds like I am driving on the edge of the highway on the grid to wake you up when running off of the road. It just clicks on soon as I cruise and it clicks away soon as I give it gas or slow down. Very annoying.
The car has 89000 miles and I think it has a warranty on the drive train.

Take it back and ask the place you bought it. Without hearing it, the sound could be any of a number of things.

I bought it from a Chevy Dealer about an hour and a half away. As is no warranty other than from the maker, I believe.
I assume these cars do not come with a spare tire, only a pump?

Kind of sound's like the AFM kicking in and out to me, if your not used to it will drive you nuts with the "drone".

Wondering what the AFM is, the term "drone" sounds right!
Seems like the overdrive or something is straining to change at that certain point.
Just strange.

Check your oil level. IF, and I say IF you're a bit low on oil, AFM may not be switching properly.

I've got an L99 too, and I can't hear mine change.

Thanks, sounds like I need to find a local shop that has the equipment to dx this car. I started researching and sounds just like the AFM to me. Pretty annoying. Engine oil is up and is fresh.
How about the transmission fluid, I don't find a dip stick or anything so do we just let it ride?

I'm going to agree that it initially sounds like the AFM drone. It can be very annoying. There is a device to keep your SS in full V8 mode, but it runs around $200. Works like a charm.

There is no dipstick for the trans fluid, which is also annoying.
