Guys my IOA is not here yet , but I am reading a lot of complaints from the L99 owners that the car does NOT get up and go. They say it is sluggish and will not do 0 - 60 in under 5 sec. I would like to hear from some L99 owners that have had their cars for a while if they are happy with the performance?

Thanks

If you'll do a search you'll find some **** fast L99 times posted.

Don't sweat the negative comments. The positive comments FAR outweigh them.

I haven't received mine yet, but I've talked with some who have theirs and they are well satified. Were the reports of cars still inside breakin period?? Traction control has to off to make things work. There have been a lot of reports on this site that reported lower numbers than 5.0 0-60 I should know this week how sluggish it will be this week.

with the way the A6 is geared, it should be nice off the line. Problem is (besides the weight), there's a lot of torque management set in the computer...to keep you from breaking parts. Nothing a good tune can't fix. :D

Under 5 is not hard to do at all with it. I am no race car driver or anything, BUT, I am 40 years and a really good stick shift driver...I have the L99Auto and it rocks; I am as fast as I would be with a stick...., I have NO PROBLEM getting 0 to 60 in about 4 and a half; MAYBE closer to 4 seconds, not that I'm getting timed on a track but the car is SERIOUS and the complaints you are getting; You probably should InVESTigate some and see if they're legit, I seriously doubt they are.....

Hey man sorry you have to hear the Smartass comments coming from M6 drivers its all good from the factory they can brag but not after aftermarket.

I dont have mine yet however I have had a lot of hours behind the wheel of my Friends 2ss with the A6 automatic.
This car is held back from GM meaning Torque managment does make it lag out of the hole. After my friend did a simple tune to the car he woke it up BIG time due to deleting Torque mangment. There have a been a few on here who have tuned there A6's and they did wake up quite however from the numbers im seeing I strongly agree and beleive that its all about who tunes the car and how well they know the A6. My friends is getting a lot better numbers than anyone elses on here.....however until I get mine he won't tell me who it is only because he likes to keep it a secret so no one will use this person. So if you get a tune do your homework on the past tunes the person who is doing it accomplished.

As for is this car slow ? HELL NO yeah it lags out of the hole but in the midrange and top end its still a VERY strong car. With a simple exhaust job and tune you will have a totally different car.

Keep this in mind all the HP is GREAT and NICE to have but due to this thing being an automatic it wont ever miss a gear like some manual drivers......its knows when to shift EVERYTIME.

dont change your order keep the A6 Trust me.

Want it to get out the hole hard, get a 3500 stall converter. The car wont be that much different with the TM tuned out. It has big heavy wheels to turn, not to mention the weight of the car to get moving. Think bout it.

Of course once the car is up to speed it'll go but most people like to get up n go right out of the hole.

The car needs a converter from the get go.

It has no problem with the wheels, I can burn them at will on dry pavement from dead stop, it's while you're already at a decent speed (> 30-40 mph) that it bogs down, unexpectedly I'd say.

There are some L99 A6's that are having issues. It's most likely a tuning issue, but one owner reports extremely sluggish performance (I mean his car is pretty slow). He most likely has something more serious going on.

But many other (including myself) have strong running L99 A6s. My car is fast and pulls hard. There' s also been a few guys that have run low 13s, which is really good in summer conditions.

We should see a lot of low 13s and possibly some 12.8s or 12.9s this fall out of stock L99 A6s. (just wait it will happen)

But there are some L99 A6's that are having issues. But its definately not all of them.

If that's the case you probably have a tuning issue or something else going on.
A guy over in another forum is having issues with his L99 (slow performance). The dealership finally tested his car and he was beat by a stock
2010 V6 Camaro in a race. So that tells you how messed up his car is.

It will be interesting to see what's wrong with his car. It could be stuck in 4 cylinder mode or has some other programming issue.

Your L99 should be fast. If it isn't you need to find out what's wrong with it.

I've received my 2SS/RS as of last Friday the 26th. I'm fully satisfied with the car. W/the traction control off it will get up and move. I'm not going to try until I have at least 500 miles on it. But I will after that. I will report back what I find out on mine. I've heard from others that the A6 will do 0-60 in 4.6. Thats pretty respectable of a stock car.

All I want to say on this issue Is I made 530 miles on the way home and a a little import came next to me at a red light and then started to rev his electric motor, until his little waste gate dumped. I couldnt fight the urge any longer. I put the stable track to competitive mode and let the hammer fall. I got a bit of tire spin but if I wasn't sub 5.0 0-60 I was **** close. I have a 73 nova with around 400 hourses that is about 600 pounds lighter and I do believe the camaro would have it beat. Im not sure how much turning off the stable track help or hurt, with out the tire spin I might have been even quicker, and as for that import... I slowed to about 35 and He still took a bit to catch up lol, then he did the loser blow by with his cartoon spoiler smiling at me lol

Had mine dynoed at speedinc yesterday. Bone stock.

As you can see, its running rich through most of the powerband.

I found that holding the t/c button down for 7 seconds to turn off t/c and stabiltrac made for the best seat of the pants feeling launch.

This problem reminds me of a story that has been floating around about a guy that buys a used late model Mustang GT500 really cheap. It was for sale because the original owner got fed up with how slow it was and traded it in. Turns out it was slow because it was on "valet" mode , for the first so many miles the preformance is limited to keep porters and such from dogging the cars. The new owner gets the dealer to turn off the valet mode and bing it runs like it should.

I thought it was just one of those cautionary tales with little basis in fact but ya never know.

mine is not sluggish. I was at a red light and there was a Corvette beside me with a man and a woman in it. He was driving. The light changed and I got into it a little bit. At the next light, I looked at him and he looked at me and we both knew that we were going to go for it. The light changed and I pulled him by half a car out of the hole and maintained this lead until we backed off at about seventy because of traffic. Mine is an A6 L99. The Vette was a late model Roadster.

Don't need a dyno for that...all you have to do it look in the brochure and you'll see that.

Change name of thread to IS sub 5.0==please.

first run 4.7 (competitive mode)
2nd run 5.3 (insane mode, stabilOFF, TC off)
after that we hit 4.7 to 4.9 a few times then like a 6 second when I tried insane again. My car is stock with no mods and it is very smoothly a Sub 5 second 0 to sixty MPH. Thank you very much and have a nice day:):5go:
